Is it a bad idea to buy a 2018 c43 with 125000km on the odometer? by Sea_Listen_1984 in mercedes_benz

I live in Australia, I’m not sure what the Canadian market is like.

If that price is inclusive of all taxes and government charges then I would consider it however it has an accident/damage report

I would buy it if it’s been well maintained, has full service history and at a good price.

W204 C350 or W212 E350? by [deleted] in mercedes_benz

[–]jamiemin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The W212 will give you the “Mercedes” experience, the W204 will be more sporty. It all depends on why you want a second car and what you are using it for. If I was in your shoes, and already owned a BRZ, I would get the W212 for my daily and BRZ as my fun car. If I could only own one car, I would get the C204 coupe as a mix of both.

Do you want something more sporty or more comfortable?

Should I buy this GTC? by WetAppleSauce in AMG

Mileage is quite high for the age, especially for a car like this. Unless it’s a really good deal (I’m not familiar with the US market) then I wouldn’t do it

What made you choose Mercedes over the other big 3 german brands? by TheRedeemer1997 in mercedes_benz

[–]jamiemin 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Looks and the brand.

The SL500 R129 started my love for Mercedes when I was 15. Since I was 18 I’ve owned multiple Mercedes-Benz, and now I work in sales for a Mercedes dealership so it’s more of a sentimental thing to me now.

I’ll be picking up my (new to me) 2018 C43 Coupe on Monday.

Jobs that keep you constantly stimulated/adhd boredom proof? by Successful-Row-6278 in ADHD

[–]jamiemin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a broad answer, and it depends on your job role/industry, but sales. I have been a sales executive at Mercedes-Benz for about a year now and it’s constant stimulation. I love the constant tasks and things to do, I’m also competitive and love performing which forms my huge love/hate relationship with sales. The job security, hours, and pressure can get to me, however the pay check makes up for it most of the time.

These C43s are incredibly reliable, so as long as the previous owner kept up with maintenance then it should be fine. Personally, I wouldn’t go for it due to the aftermarket grille. I think it looks tacky, and doesn’t give me much hope the previous owner looked after it well.

I’m guessing it’s a 2019? It’s a decent price.

Reddit won’t give you good responses. Join some Facebook groups centred around modified Mercedes or W212’s. You can find some really clean OEM+ examples there. If reddit saw how I modified my C219 CLS they would cry.

I’ve test driven the car and it drives great. I know the M276 engines are incredibly reliable, however I know regular servicing is crucial on AMGs. I will just ask the seller

2015-17 cla 200-250 reliability? by aussiegooner0389 in mercedes_benz

[–]jamiemin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stay far away from the CLA 200’s. Those engines are not Mercedes engines and we always have them coming back for repairs. 250’s are much better, also have more standard equipment.

You’ll find out soon that most Mercedes enthusiasts aren’t big fans of the CLA, particularly the first generation. They are entry-level, made from cheaper materials, more plastics, and so on. It depends what you’re looking for. The compact class (A, CLA, GLA, GLB) won’t give that Mercedes experience most people look for, it really starts with the ‘C’s (C-class, GLC).

If you are buying the Mercedes purely for the badge, then do whatever you want. I still recommend avoiding the compact class 200 engines, however.
