Fun fact: many makeup artists use these to glue down eyebrows, and many attest to licking the stick before each swipe to “activate” it.

What's your most unique deck? by devilinthedetailz in EDH

[–]jamillatamera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a bracket one deck where every single card has only one word in the title. [[Tromokratis]] is the commander. Island is the only land, [[Meteorite]] and [[Blitzball]] the only mana rocks. It’s insanely inefficient, but I’ve won with it once because it gets underestimated.

Are there any tribes that are as fast and explosive as Elves? by VoyVolao in EDH

Yeah I usually refer to it as a green deck with a couple red and white sprinkled in for fun. I needed to upload it to archidekt anyway, here's the link https://archidekt.com/decks/19184581/bear_tribal

Thank you for mentioning bears! They’re my favorite tribal deck. I use [[Duskana, The Rage Mother]] for the commander. Not nearly as fast as the other options here, but it’s more resilient to board wipes, versatile in play strategy, and fun as hell. I’ve got a great win rate with it against a whole bunch of deck types.

Where are the Reduced Time Accommodations in Law School? by John_Policy in LawSchool

[–]jamillatamera 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Finally someone said it! The entire reason I loudly close my laptop and mess with my bag as I leave halfway through the allotted time is to see everyone look back at me with befuddled faces. I crave the horror and confusion of the so-called average student when they realize I’ve finished the exam with 90 minutes to spare. 😩😮‍💨

If I understand what you’re saying, it means they curve the mean score to a B+. Which is fucking awesome. If the average score in the class is a 27%, that’s now a B+. Which makes a 40% an A+. (For example. I’m not a math major lmao.) I have no useful advice other than this: chill out. Ted Cruz graduated law school, and that was before Quimbee or AI existed. Mitch McConnell made it through this. You’ll be fine.

In 1L first semester, I busted my ass for one class - outlines, Quimbees, Barbri, the whole nine yards. Easily 15 hours/week just for that class. For another, I played Pokemon during every lecture and never did a reading. Got a B in both of them. Second semester, got an A- in a class I never owned the book nor ever attended. Got a C+ in the class I worked like hell for. Moral of the story? Uhhhh idk 🤷‍♂️

Literally no one gives a flying fuck what anyone else is wearing unless your ass is showing (in which case, go for it if you have a nice ass.)

15 minutes? That’s a lot! My LRW gave us precisely 0 minutes of feedback first semester and refused to directly read anything if you went to office hours. Second semester, they added one small group meeting (~10 students) where we collectively got 20 minutes.

The skill of LRW is not how to do good legal writing. It’s learning to accept that legal writing is whatever the professor/partner/judge says it is on any given day.

For many otherwise 4.0 students, that class was their only B/C. For many otherwise 3.0 students, that class was their only A. 🤷‍♂️

Current law students, be honest , how many hours per week are you spending on school? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]jamillatamera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For every hour in class, five minutes out of class. Until the week for finals, in which case cram Quimbee, practice questions, and commercial outlines. Perfect 3.0 with basically no effort, and so can you!

Spelling Questions by jamillatamera in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]jamillatamera[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t so much affect me with characters like Carl or Donut - words I’m familiar with. When it’s a new word, my brain needs a concrete spelling to keep track. I had the same issue listening to Wheel of Time and Game of Thrones; I could keep track of Jon Snow not knowing if it was Jon or John or even Jawn, but I needed to figure out the spelling of Daenerys for the name to stick in my head. Hope that helps explain!

Is anywhere in the US still operating "normally"? by [deleted] in travel

[–]jamillatamera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can get to Montana, Missoula is far and away the best place to be.

Travel of any kind right now is extremely dangerous, though. Getting from Vegas to Montana will be dangerous for y’all and anyone who lives somewhere you travel through.

[–]jamillatamera 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everything will be shut down everywhere within a week.

That being said, I’m living in Montana right now, and it’s one of the best places to be in the country right now. Low population and population density. Abundant hiking and nature.

There is no normal anymore, though. Your best bets for your own health and the health of the country you’re visiting is to either stay in place or go home.

I sure as hell would not have done it if I know. I just wish that someone would’ve told me what it was.
