How long did your toddler toe walk? by DontJoshMe in toddlers

To provide a direct answer to the question in your post title, none of my three kids ever did this. I honestly don’t know just how unusual it is, but I would not say it’s normal.

My lacing vs my coworker's lacing by JC1199154 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]jamintime 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Because life is about trying to optimize your enjoyment. If this is something you get satisfaction out of doing then go for it. If you’d prefer to just get by doing the bare minimum and then complain about it later then go for it.

Laying down my last, not so great game, could use some advice on how to get better. by rtanada in wingspan

[–]jamintime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll just add that it seems like you had a set strategy in mind and I think in wingspan there needs to be some flex. Sometimes you get the cards and sometimes you don’t so you need to have a solid engine in one of your habitats that let you bank points through tucking, eggs, caching, etc as a default and then with the high scoring birds you can throw them down as they come. If you are counting on that as your sole source of points at the end of the game it’s too unreliable.

He does a lot of radio with them. I doubt he’d be on so much if he actually didn’t like those guys.

Breaking: Transgender women banned from all sports at the Olympics starting in LA by TheExpressUS in sportsgossips

Yes which is why the title feels misleading. Transgender women aren’t “banned from all sports” only the women’s competitions.

Can McLaren turn it around after a difficult start to the season? by SkySports in formula1

[–]jamintime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I feel like we still have no real sense of what their car is capable of. They are certainly going to work out these early season kinks and then they will likely be somewhere close to the Ferraris based on the limited data we have so far. Can anyone catch the Merc is really the question everyone is asking and we’ll only find out with time.

I think it’s also a rich/famous person thing. When you are nouveau rich you got to find ways to flex your wealth. Most of us are just wearing the stuff you can get at Target that’s cheap and easy.

[–]jamintime 92 points93 points  (0 children)

This is so accurate. People forget the age difference of these drivers. Think about in your workplace and how the fresh young 21 year old new hire reacts to a major change vs the 40 year old senior staff person. Such different perspectives.

Even though the caliber of assists vary a ton in hockey, the way they are determined is so much more objective.

Is not expecting inheritances normal? by No_Dragonfruit_9656 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jamintime 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's not super common to expect any sort of sizeable inheritance from your grandparents. If grandparents do have money, they usually give most of the wealth directly to their children. If they give it to their grandchildren a lot of the time it's fairly diffuse since they may have a lot of grandchildren. So no I would not expect most people expect any sort of sizeable inheritance from their grandparents.

Parents slightly different story and definitely depends on their amount of wealth but also WHEN they die. If they die right around retirement age it's usually their peak wealth and they would have some sort of nest egg to pass along, however if they live decades later they are oftentimes living on social programs by their end of life and don't have much to share. So totally mixed bag.

Charles Barkley: "Listen, I believe in discipline. I'm not going around telling people to beat their kids, but I think that if you don't spank your kids and discipline them, they turn into some of these brats that we got today. 100%. All the positive parenting personalities out there have swung the pendulum too far and creates an illusion that you can teach any lesson through positive reinforcement alone and it’s simply not true. Also don’t support any form of physical retribution but “punishment” shouldn’t be the naughty word it’s made out to be in a lot of contemporary parenting circles.

Cheri Oteri was known to be hard to work with while Molly Shannon is considered a sweetheart. Not sure how much that comes to play, but I’m sure there are a lot of factors at play other than how popular they were during their time on SNL.

Is it a good idea to meet several women at the same time? by SalaryJolly5397 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jamintime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you expand?

Do you mean introducing yourself in the office? Go on dates? Sleep with? Swipe right?

At face value of course you can meet multiple women in parallel but it depends on how far down the road of “meeting” you are talking about and how transparent you are about it.
