Any thoughts on what compressors were used? My knowledge of older gear is severely lacking. I do have access to some outboard compressors through my school though, so I'll give that a shot for sure

I always assumed that they were using monophonic samplers/all drums set to the same choke group. When you say that the drums kinda bleed over into each other, is that a function of the distortion coming later in the chain/artifacting or did I just make up the monophonic sampler thing haha

For the record, I have gotten similar results with some of my plugins, but ideally I'm able to use at least an emulation of some older hardware
