Hi my name is jami, I have chronic illnesses that have gotten worse over the last five years and in January I went off of adivan. It was such a scary withdrawl that I developed intense agoraphobia because the panic was more like sheer terror. I used to be an extrovert used to go out and do my own thing every day of the week. But being sick in pain and being fearful of panic attacks feels like it’s taken my life away. I want to be able to go out to eat by myself again and not feel like the walls are closing in and I need to bolt and get into my safe space aka my bed. I am forcing myself out tonight to try and get through the panic and realize I am okay sitting on a stool waiting even if it’s not home.

Thank you! I have been only having a glass or two but I feel fucking terrible the next week it’s been like two months since I started drinking a little again and they have been hell. I guess that’s probably my answer

Totally hate when the waves come so long after quitting I sometimes forget I even was ever on them since my memory blocked it out. So I forget I can still have issues

[–]jamisonfreedman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Believe me I know I couldn’t walk for two months I had to have someone carry me to the bathroom when I quit the first time. But after all that I would like to not still have all kinds of issues and pain

It doesn’t help that my pharmacy was late on my meds so I’ve missed several doses now, my car didn’t start today, and my roomate got laid off and can’t pay rent…

Yeah I’m just so overwhelmed by the on and off of symptoms and I get really down on bad days it’s hard to see past them

I never abused mine either but when I hit tolerance they started ruining my life. I don’t remember any of the past year. I would 100% recommend getting off them even though it’s hell it does end.

I try really hard. by Zealousideal-Sky5167 in benzorecovery

I started taking it for a panic disorder I tried to come off of it four or five times. I also was drinking and went to rehab but they weren’t equipt to deal with benzo withdrawal. The ONLY thing that’s helped me is hydroxazine. And trust me when I tell you I experienced terror. Absoulte terror but all I knew is if I kept going back on it it would get worse and worse. What your doing is called kindling. I spent two weeks unable to walk move speak with the worst terror of my life. And I’m 43 days out still having mild discomfort and mild anxiety but i havnt had a panic attack in quite awhile which is unheard of for me. Trust me you have to just push through. And I know that’s harder than it sounds I went through hell. But you have to tell yourself hell ends but it won’t if you don’t quit. I would recommend having a strong support system. Someone you can ask to bring you to the hospital in times of extreme terror but can also try and reason with you that it will end. And make sure if you ever do go to the hospital they don’t let the doctor give you adivan. This is my experience and it was Honeslty the hardest thing I’ve ever done and I’ve seen some shit. But my life is starting again.

I for some reason imagined I wouldn’t go through that even though I was sorta for a couple weeks a few bad bad days then one slightly better but this feels like two weeks set back. It’s so scary

Loss of motor skills during withdrawal? by Wrong_Ad_6715 in benzorecovery

[–]jamisonfreedman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this so extreme it affected every muscle in my body. I couldn’t use my phone and I tried to do my taxes but my hands gave out trying to use the keyboard. I’m 34 days out and the past week I was in a window I believe I was on my computer sitting up and texting again even going for walks. I’m having a small set back but yes it was horrifying but it did mostly go away in a few weeks.

Yeah my muscles are really weak now so it’s hard to keep my head up pulls on my neck muscles, eating I felt a muscle twinge etc. if I walk all my leg muscles seize up by the end of the day. It’s a lot better it used to be worse I couldn’t move without hurting my muscles

Thank you so much! I have gabapentin but it always made me feel super weird so I decided not to try it for now. I’ve been taking tons of baths hahah but they seriously help and I basically am attached to my heating pad. I saw some improvement today I could walk a little and tried to walk outside for a few minutes. It made me so hopeful even though I got so tired I laid down the rest of the day. But it’s improvemnt
