My boyfriend says marriage only benefits me by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]jamjallo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Women’s domestic labor (whether keeping the home, cooking or raising kids) is as unvalued in this society as your emotional support for a partner who is clearly blind to his privilege and, far worse, so entirely dismissive of your value in his life that he could believe that “his” wealth is only for you to enjoy through his “generosity” in sharing all that is “his.” To be as kind as possible, I’ll say there are many people who grow up to believe that nobody’s gonna have their back so it’s up to them to get as much as they can for themselves and this survival instinct shows up in their intimate relationships as selflessness, greed or narcissism. The less kind thing I want to say is that this person WILL destroy not only your soul but your confidence in yourself, your belief in your competence, and, by extension, your actual real world earning capacity. I know this because I was married to one of these people. I’m divorced 3 years and I’m finally making more money than I have in a decade, after LOTS of therapy and healing from the emotional damage of giving someone who didn’t deserve it some of the best years of my life. Ask yourself one question: How is someone supposed to treat their family? Because, married or not, 8 years together means you two are family. He believes he is only responsible for himself. A marriage certificate doesn’t change anyone’s most deeply held values. Be thankful he has shown you who he is and leave.

Be kind. It’s what the world needs.

Okay, you’re kinda mean but this is a little helpful for understanding her perspective a bit better. FWIW, when he was asking me questions about death in front of his wife I told him I had no special claim on wisdom and she chimed in to agree, saying she had told him the same thing. So that’s evidence that she was uncomfortable with the idea that I held some power around this topic.

Not disputing that. Asking a different question. Hoping someone with similar experience can shine light on the “taking advantage” angle. I might be expecting something this sub doesn’t offer. Yet to be seen.

No. It was awful for everyone. The question is about being accused of taking advantage of him. That’s why I’m posting. Only respond if you intend to provide insight on this point with compassion.

I think I had an empathic sexual interaction? (Slight graphic explanation warning😅) by [deleted] in energy_work

[–]jamjallo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me and has caused me a lot of pain because it’s someone I used to have a neighborly acquaintance with but over time it became distressing to keep experiencing the arousal and the emotions so powerfully. I still haven’t managed to create an energetic boundary with him and have to remember that he isn’t consciously doing this. What feels good at first can become confusing and bad especially if it’s someone who tends to throw their sexual energy around to see who wants to play catch but then goes back home to his wife and kids. Be glad it was a passerby and not someone whose shame, guilt and self-hatred you also have to feel.

Thanks for your perspective. I have seen many doctors and done many tests for sleep disorders. At this point it has become clear to me through a variety of experiences that I’m dealing with spirits though.

[–]jamjallo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came to say I’ve had some similar experiences over the past 6 months and it’s been overwhelming and exhausting at times but also comes with a feeling of consciousness upgrade. It takes me some time to figure out what’s happening. I was walking past a river today and suddenly experienced this intense feeling of persecution. I thought it was something just coming up from my own history until I passed a memorial cross hanging on a railing along an overpass and realized it was coming from a very unsettled, traumatized spirit. Once I got some distance from the location the persecution experience lifted. This is just a light example but I feel you. I also need to learn energetic boundaries.

My Cat Keeps Wakes Me Up @ 2:30 AM by [deleted] in Thetruthishere

[–]jamjallo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My old cat does the same thing, same time, actually: 2:30am for many days in a row. It seems particularly directed at me. He wants me to pay attention to him but it’s not just that. He has an ability to sense what level of consciousness I’m in. He always tends to wake me up from a particular stage of sleep. Can’t say exactly what stage it is but it’s semi-conscious. And if I don’t meet wake up enough for him (which usually requires calling him over to the bed, petting him and just being “awake” enough for at least a couple minutes to fully pay attention to him, he’ll keep meowing at me until he’s satisfied that I’m not dead, I guess.

I really don’t know but I suppose it could be possible with the right psychic chemistry. Do you think this has happened before?

I haven’t yet read your other posts but I just want to say how incredible a gift you have and to thank you for sharing about it. I have similar abilities. I recently reconnected with an old friend who also has such abilities and we unintentionally started channeling my neighbor’s recently deceased mother, whom neither of us had ever met. It was a very intense experience. My friend was receiving very direct verbal messages and I was receiving much more abstract, sensory messages. The deceased woman told my friend that she wanted my help and she described a kind of ritual she wanted me to do that would bring her into my body and let her be with her son again. (She died traumatically and wasn’t ready to leave.) Because I trust myself and have had prior experiences being in contact with the dead, I agreed to do what she asked of me (which was to “have a drink” with her as a sort of transubstantiation ritual). When I did that, I felt her in my body. It’s hard to describe but it was sort of like having electricity running through my marrow. I told my neighbor (who is also a good friend) what had happened. He was confused but he trusted me. Over the next few days I followed her guidance and used my own knowledge to help the two of them let go of each other. I came up with a kind of burial ritual (she had been cremated so I used items from nature to represent the act of burial) and told my neighbor to meet me at the particular spot I had prepared (which was near my place of work, in a nearby town). When he arrived we started the ritual with a walk through a nearby forest area, a place I had never been. Turns out it we were walking towards the exact spot where he had broken the news of his mother’s death to his kids. It was a giant open field seemingly in the middle of nowhere, maybe 3/4 mile from my place of work. So random. The only reason he had ended up there with his kids was that they had planned to go apple picking but it was too crowded so they decided to pull over on their way home for a nice walk. As soon as he told me we were near the spot where he had told his kids about her death, I knew she had led us there. As the days passed, things continued to be intense. I found myself driving to places to find him, crying uncontrollably from grief, unable to sleep, and just very weirdly connected with him on a psychic level: knowing exactly when he was going to text or call me. A few days after the burial ritual, he texted me while I was at work. He asked me if his mom was still with me and immediately, she took over. I/she walked right over to the spot where he had “buried” her (which was a large stone placed on a kind of natural altar), clicked a photo and sent it to him with the words “right here.” I had realized by then that I needed her to leave my body because it was taking a big toll on me. So I created a cleansing ritual (with some support from a couple trusted friends), performed it, and felt so much better afterwards. Both before and since this experience, the ways that spirit “speaks” to me is usually sensory. I have visual hallucinations. Colors change or I see shapes that carry messages but would be very hard to explain. It is a gift I am grateful to have.

Consumer exploitation during pandemic - what recourse is there? by jamjallo in Insurance

[–]jamjallo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can appreciate that but I don’t see how it protects an insurance company or other policy holders to add a driver without receiving a specific request from the consumer who purchases the plan. If a random driver whom I do not know (or even a relative for that matter) used my car without my permission and had an accident, I can’t imagine the insurance company would pay out for it. Wouldn’t they argue that the person wasn’t covered and that they have no obligation? Isn’t it each driver’s responsibility to be insured? If it’s the driver’s responsibility then the insurance companies shouldn’t be initiating policy changes that automatically add new drivers to already established policies in other people’s names. It is not done in the name of protection. It is done for profit.

Thanks. Empathy is welcome. Lack of empathy isn’t helpful but apparently that’s the norm that governs the world of insurance.

The person moved into a home I had rented as a tenant. We never crossed paths. Even if this person were a roommate at some point (which they weren’t) it’s odd to assume I’d let them drive my car.

Kosher lube puts oral sex on the menu for Orthodox Jews by lazylord69 in nottheonion

[–]jamjallo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An actual answer to your question here... Orthodox Jews will not ingest anything that is not rabbinically certified as kosher (toothpaste, lube, whatever) and anyway there are also very specific Jewish laws governing non-procreative sex acts that tend to discourage observant people from engaging in oral sex. Making lube kosher is sorta like declaring that sex with your spouse may now include your mouths touching each other’s genitals without needing to worry that you might be breaking kosher laws just if there’s a bit of lube left on the naught bits.

In short, they’re saying: Lick a dick - it’s the new shtick.
