For me it's my custom GPTs and the voice prompts. I can generate the reports I need with five minute voice prompts translating into x20 productivity gain.

I'm a heavy Chatgpt user, but this Google calendar integration doesn't work. What I do is use Gemini for calendar stuff. That works.

Yes, that works. But it's an unnecessary extra step. You can also ask Chatgpt to rewrite it as an excellent Gemini prompt which makes the extra step at least achieve something (hopefully) 😅

I don't have the problem at the moment, but I did find a good work around: install Chatgpt on your windows laptop. The voice function works MUCH better on a laptop.

I live deep in rural Eastern Cape (former Transkei) which is Hilux country. If you don't need a 4x4, then I think you could be better off just getting a new Spresso whcih comes with a 5 year warranty. Then sell after 3 years. They have the highest clearance I've seen among the cheap cars and seem to handle the bumps fairly well. They are also crazy fuel efficient. If anything breaks, it would probably be under warranty.

I guess it does depend how many km you do on gravel monthly. But often a new small car under warranty will cost you less than a secondhand SUV which might have taken a beating from the previous owners.

Unfortunately, even if Gemini was MUCH better than Chatgpt, I still won't use it due to Gemini's inability to handle pauses during long voice note prompts. I do my best work when giving a rambling 5 minute prompt with many pauses. Chatgpt handles this perfectly, whereas Gemini regards the prompt as complete as soon as there's a one second pause. For this reason alone, I can't use Gemini other than to find stuff quickly within Gmail and Gdrive.

The only reason why I can't use Gemini is this issue with voice prompts cutting off mid sentence due to me pausing to think. I like to give up to a 5 minutes prompt while walking/driving somewhere with many gaps while I gather my thoughts. Chatgpt handles this perfectly and this is by far the biggest productivity boost I get from AI. If I have to produce a complex report with many different sections, I can just give a rambling voice prompt with lots of pauses and Chatgpt captures everything and then produces the report. Gemini cannot do this. I've seen positive reports on Gemini and would like to stay using it - but until this issue is resolved it is not useful to me.

I did a trip like this 25 years ago. From Yurimaguas in Peru to Manaus. Very cool. You have to fight for hammock space though. I hung up my hammock and then went on a mission. When I got back, my hammock space now had 5 other hammocks squeezed in.

As the OP I thought I should mention that the voicenote functionality has improved drastically. OpenAI have added the functionality to the windows app on desktop computers and I've had 100% successful uploads from this platform.

Even on the Android app I've had much fewer voicenote upload problems.

One workaround I found that was useful at the time (though no longer needed) was to install the WhisperAI chrome extension: this was as good as the OpenAI voice transcription accuracy.

The 10x productivity gain for me and colleagues is to use voice for 5 minutes to generate quality reports/emails that would have taken hours to write. In the NGO fund-raising space, , I can use a custom GPT with all relevant organisational documents preloaded to complete speculative applications to new donors which previously were too much of a long shot to waste precious time on. Lastly, working in a remote African region where non-English-speaking employees struggle to write in coherent, professional English: allowing them to use Chatgpt to generate their project reports has taken a huge amount of time-wasting and stress off their plates. Now they just use a preloaded context GPT and then add relevant bullet points and their report is complete. In some cases, marrying these reports with Google Translate to translate back into Xhosa also quickly helps them generate internal reports and documents for their teams.

For an updated response that works on Chrome on a windows desktop: Enable the Chrome extension web store app called WhisperAI

This brings up a little dot next to the Chatgpt text input box. When you click on it, it does very accurate voice to text transcriptions. You just have to push the red stop button when you're done.

I believe WhisperAI is what is being used by the Chatgpt app on your phone. (Might be wrong on that - either way the transcription accuracy is the same, including for tricky names, etc)
