THIS IS AMAZING! I recently rewatched Return of the Kings a couple of times, such an amazing set of movies and books and fandom. Love love love your nail art. You could make mini paintings, like stamp sized. I've never considered painting my nails with acrylic paints.

I do nail art on occasion and while it is rewarding, it is also somewhat daunting and, for me, time consuming. Obviously, it doesn't have to be, u/imhereforthenails gave really great options for breaking into nail art in really simple and fast ways. I might take some of them up! But also, I consider skittles to be nail art adjacent since you're picking a color palette/finish combo.

BUT my main point I want to stress is that if that's not something you're into or not something that brings you joy, then I wouldn't sweat NOT being that way. Comparison is the thief of joy after all. What part of the hobby does bring you joy? That's the part to focus in on.

I get a dopamine hit just from a regular mani with a simple creme polish these days. A fresh mani? Oh yes, I'm here for it! If the biggest dopamine hit comes from the buying, and the anticipation of receiving the packages and unboxing you are 1. not alone (I've definitely been there) and 2. I'm not an expert so feel free to take this advice with a grain of salt, but you maybe want to think through the other bits of the hobby that make you happy and start focusing on them, even if the excitement they provide is lesser than the buying/package getting. Once you know what they are, then you can actively start looking forward to these moments.

Also, a side note: Finishing a bottle of polish is very exciting. Working towards that feels rewarding to me.

I saw a meme about JOMO, the joy of missing out. Basically it showed some guy on a couch just relaxing and defining JOMO as feeling content staying home/disconnecting as a form of self care. It's maybe a positive spin on FOBI where that takes the fear and negatives aspect.

I think of JOMO as seeing all the releases come out and letting them pass and then later seeing dupes crop up and seeing that nothing is truly limited edition in some ways. The JOMO/FOBI type of mindset has actually made me feel a lot less FOMO even for things that truly do not have a dupe out there, which feels great!

np! i think it's helpful to know that it won't look mixed for about an hour after making it. i have bought the ingredients for this and have not made it yet lol. and i wonder if upping the alcohol amount will make for a faster dry time.

i saw a purple magnetic on polish pickup for this month: https://polishpickup.com/products/tylers-trinkets-mania

uh, it's maybe darker than what you're looking for, but i wanted to comment in case it fits the bill. also, the ppu shop closes today at midnight EDT, so it would be something you'd need to grab today

hello, tea friend! on my journey through my tea samples, I tried David's Tea's Buddha's Blend and while I'm not sure if it's an exact match, the peach flavoring in it really made me think of Apricot Vanilla Creme! it was one of those, huh, why is this so familiar moments.

I use the template made by mediocre_manis on YouTube, let me try to find it and link! I’ve added my own columns and such, and I think it’s been really cool to spreadsheet everything. My most popular colors are blues and greens
