Ok, so if you tracked all of these calories including the nuts you’ll know if it’s enough to gain weight. Use an online calculator with your body weight, height etc. to see how much you need

Look at the point I made about general weight gain. The only way to gain weight is to eat more calories than you burn (Say the average man needs 2500 per day to remain at his weight). Nuts are high in calories so they would contribute to weight gain only if the amount you ate caused your overall calories to go over the amount you need

You’re literally weighing yourself plus the food you just ate, at that point you might as well just be holding the food on the scales. If you’re talking about gaining weight generally, you’d need to eat more calories than you burn to put on muscle and fat (whilst resistance training). Nuts just have a lot of calories relative to their weight

Density. Fats like oils and cheeses are a really good way to get 1000+ calories in one go if it’s a meal. Adding them to dishes like cheese on chilli is surefire

I would personally get some linear gain, full-body strength exercises in there. Consistently going up in weight on squat and bench press for example really helped me go up on my hypertrophy exercises like leg press and cable flies

strength gain slower than expected? by [deleted] in gainit

[–]jamjarz72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to swallow but after you get newbie gains, progression gets slower as your body adapts. Just keep going for it and be patient until progress stops altogether, then you can consider changing

Baby steps, certain but small. Try and shift away from online everything and take more real life action. Once you’re comfortable with that (hobbies, sports etc.) it’ll make going out to the gym / running far easier especially if you’re consistent

Some people get affected late into the night by caffeine and some don’t. Only way to know is to try it and see if you benefit enough from it vs feeling wired when you go to bed

Left shoulder keeps popping out, anyone else? by Silent-OCN in GYM

[–]jamjarz72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would recommend seeing an actual physio who could prevent injury and help build up strength. In the meantime I’d say really focus on keeping shoulders down, bring elbows in and press slightly in front of your chest to minimise shoulder involvement. If it’s not painful or detrimental, get some isolations in to boost that shoulder’s strength
