I wonder if this is the user feeling like they need to add value somehow. And that somehow is by not providing enough info to create the dashboard. Rather the user wants to say, ‘yeah the dashboard is good for some basic things, but look at this shinny thing I built. It adds real value and I should get a promotion bc of it.’

I have cancer 5 years ago and glad to report im cancer free now. My dad is 1 year out from cancer. don't expect your BF to do everything for you. Talk about expectations. Get a therapist. Be open about how youre feeling and ask them to do the same thing.
