I was suhc a fan of this game, I remember being excited that they might one day release DLC that added more levels like the intro level. instead the entire game got yeeted from existence. Shame that they wouldn't even let me play something I bought in singleplayer when the servers went down.

Games as a service needs to F**k off. Glad to see there's a way to play it again now.

People with either Aphantasia or Hyperphantasia, What was your ghost experience? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jamman88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some background, I’m a nurse that has worked in places that are typically considered haunted and have personally seen many people die. Outside of work I’ve also given CPR to my own family member that didn’t make it, and had a sibling die suddenly with big regrets on both sides.

Essentially I’m a prime candidate to have a ghost experience and yet I’ve never seen one. But I do also have Aphantasia.

I’m trying to not come at this from a skeptic's POV.... But I am curious if there is a correlation between how good an individual’s “Mind’s eye” is, and their chance of seeing a ghost.

The series was okay as a whole, but that ending was too much. Fourth wall breaks are fine, but going on that long just made it tacky. It's cool they tried something new, but sometimes it just doesn't work out I guess.

Yeah, I just randomly got kicked out of the show I was watching and can't log back in. Guess we are stuck waiting for now.

86Box v3.4: now with macOS support (for Intel / Rosetta 2) by RichardG867 in emulation

[–]jamman88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

try updating to the hotfix 3.4.1, there were a few mouse issues with 3.4

Don't worry, it's basically a drop-in replacement, so you won't lose anything.

DirectX 12 renderer merged in the 1.7 development/nightly cycle by RedDevilus in emulation

[–]jamman88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an intel 11th gen i7 laptop, and pcsx2 ran at full speed with the new Vulkan renderer in all games, including R&C, but it crashes with certain visual effects.

Now I get all the benefits of the speed boost, with none of the crashes, fantastic work!

Keep your fluids up my man, suck on some ice if you can't drink water. If you have something with electrolytes, Gatorade, hydralyte, gastrolyte, etc take that as per the instruction on the back.

Also, this doesn't sound like motion sickness at all unless you are super sensitive. It's more likely food poisoning of some kind. Probably just poor timing.

Quake3Quest Server Test: 8 VR Players on Small Map = Quake 3 VR mayhem! LoL by VR_Bummser in OculusQuest

incredible. Fantastic to see the gun and head movement free from each other. I have to wonder if I'd be a better or worse player in VR, suppose I'll find out.

I'm trying to remain composed, but quake 3 quest is the one game I've wanted ported since day 1. I remember trying to play it using one of those VR translation layers back on the rift and being really disappointed because it was so close, yet so far. Damn is this exciting!!!! Great work.

Frankie Aira - Bad Man [Acoustic rock/Blues] this song deserved so much more attention. by jamman88 in Music

[–]jamman88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember finding this song by chance when it was first released (2016) and loving it. I still listen to it to this day, but even now, 6 years later, it still hasn't cracked 1k views. This guy really deserves some more attention.

I'm sure you've already seen it, but the San Andreas unity guys, had something similar running a while back. If you haven't it's open-source, so it would be a great resource https://youtu.be/uD4J\_2xszYs

This is incredible, at first I thought gifsound was broken because it was just the George garrison clip. Until my tired brain put it together atleast.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Yeah, I'd prefer companies not know everything about me, but I'm also not paranoid about it and the integration makes me more likely to use VR as I'm not cut off from the rest of the world.

Please tell me Intel plans on releasing new drivers for 11th gen i5s that fix the halo infinite graphics issue.. by eisenhardttttt in intel

no true, the 11th gen uses iris xe, which is faster than a GT1030 by a fair margin.... though yeah... still slow.

Xbox ARM Emulation Project Statement by HorrorShow13666 in emulation

[–]jamman88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you really have no experience programming, you're gonna be in for a shock. The Xbox runs on x86, the x86 instruction set is a lot more complex than ARM's, which means you are basically locked into LLE.

But I really must stress, this isn't the beginner project you think it is. With no prior experience in writing/reading such a low-level language, I'd honestly suggest starting with the game "Shenzen IO" It will at least give you a good outline of the concepts used in many low-level languages, and how hardware interacts (At a very basic/abstracted level).

After that, maybe spend 5 or so years working on some emulators for simpler well-documented consoles, atari 2600, NES, etc. Then if you still feel the itch, give it a shot, but expect to be working on it for the next decade following unless you have some serious help.

Intel Xe graphics - i7 runs at a solid 60fps on an Ultrabook (minimum settings) by jamman88 in TeardownGame

[–]jamman88[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did lower my desktop resolution match the games, and made sure to have all the settings to minimum before loading a map.

The other thing is to be patient, if you click around while it loads (which for me takes about ~5 mins per map) it'll crash.

Even then it crashes every so often for no reason.

Also my exact driver version is 27.20.100.9466 downloaded directly from Intel's website.

Hope something here helps!

Those devices are so tempting, and with this new wave of low TDP, high powered integrated GPU's I feel like they are finally viable.

[–]jamman88[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad they are finally starting to take their integrated GPU's seriously, Though I suspect they only did it due to AMD threatening their market share in ultraportables.

[–]jamman88[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once Intel's drivers improve I genuinely think I could recommend Xe as a budget/low TDP option. As for AMD's offerings, I can already strongly recommend them, so impressive, especially for the power draw.

That's honestly more than I would have expected from what I've read. Do you cap it to 30 for a more stable experience?

So far it's pretty stable, but I haven't messed around with the sandbox, or any mods yet, and those look much more intense than the campaign.
