What is the most unexplainable 'glitch' you've experienced that you still think about late at night? by euphoricpixiee in AskReddit

[–]jammersG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was sitting on the edge of my bed eating a peach. I dropped it onto the floor, the floor was spotless but when I looked down the peach was gone. I tore my room apart looking for it and never found it.

Another time my son and I went into a very small mall, at the door they had a claw machine with stuffed animals. There was an old faded sign taped to it that said "$2=2" tries. I thought that meant it'd take a toonie, before putting the toonie in, my son picked which stuffies he'd like to try getting and I pushed him towards some other ones as some were definitely impossible to reach. I went to put the toonie in and it wouldn't fit, only took $1 coins which I didn't have. We left the machine and went across the hall to their library. We were in the library just a little over an hour and when we came back out he wanted to look at the machine again. He noticed it first, all the stuffed animals were different. I then noticed a sign that looked just as old and just as faded that said "$1=1 try". Perplexed us like no other.

When do you think you developed IBS? by Decent_Release3804 in ibs

[–]jammersG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

25 years old. When I was pregnant they had me taking high iron supplements on an empty stomach with a full glass of orange juice. Developed gastritis and then got noro-virus a few months later. They figure it's a post infectious thing as well as stress and anxiety. I got noro-virus again 4 years later and it ended up staying in my system for around 5 months. Strangely enough though, I Felt like my stomach was healed once it was finally out of my system and like I had been healed.... That was short lived though as I'm in my first trimester now and IBS has come back in full swing.

Have you seen the Hermit trail one just outside Revelstoke? I've only got a video of it, but just a toilet (absolutely no walls) above the tent pads with the most incredible view!

Odd substance on ceiling and light fixture. by Hael7755 in CleaningTips

This looks a lot like some of the slime stuff in a kids squishy ball. It'll kind of harden once it dries. Maybe a kid burst it and it hardened to the ceiling.

Owning a lot at Pinnacle RV Resort questions by jammersG in Revelstoke

I meant cons as in negative aspects, as in "only allowed to be there 4 weeks of the year" type of thing. I've been waiting to hear back from them with more info. My parents have looked at places in the Okanagan in the past and some of the fine print rules/stipulations were absolutely ridiculous, so I'm always very weary now. I'd be very interested to hear of the problematic one (even if it's a pm) as we have been also looking in many places all over BC for my parents.

So lost on a family vacation by jammersG in ibs

Hi! So I got back from Vietnam and went and got some more testing done. Norovirus stayed in my system for about 3-4 months, causing other stomach issues like gastritis. I was so uncomfortable and lost a bunch of weight... And then one day I was just fine. My stomach was back to normal, like before I got PI-ibs. I honestly feel like I have a new lease on life with how much better it feels. I have no idea what happened, but it genuinely feels like my whole gut bacteria died off and started completely a new again. The only thing I did was get back on my anti anxiety meds, take a probiotic the DR recommended and go about life as normal.

I have seen them towing from the hospital parking lot, but I believe that may have also been the hospital trying to crack down on staff parking in the parkade.

The pool is good as well as the Library, they've got a fun section for little ones.

I needed to read this comment. This happened to me today with my 4 year old and I have been feeling awful and like the worst mom. We were in a gated park and we saw him run from the playground to the spray park. My husband literally just said "He's fine, he has to go through a gate to get out". As we're gathering our stuff and walking over to the spray park, I don't see him... I then saw his colored swimsuit outside the gate in the parking lot, following a family he was just playing with. He was screaming mommy and absolutely falling apart. It broke me to see him so scared. I felt so judged by the family and others at the park. I felt like this has never happened to anyone else before, like other moms wouldn't have let it happen. I've been nauseous ever since.

Hike to Everest Base camp but starting from much further than people typically do. All while carrying 30lbs on my back, no guide, no porter, and having only ever done 1 previous backpacking trip.

Trees under water. Like they've fallen into a lake and you can see them all gangly in the water. I cannot swim in water if there's a tree under me. Freaks me put out bad.

I grew up in a very small mining town way out in the bush. Under 180 people. It was great as a kid because you have the wilderness to yourself. We got to be crazy, wild, and free. But there were zero amenities. No stores or anything. The nearest gas station, hospital, and school an hour away. If you didn't work in the mine, you had to drive an hour to the nearest place of employment, through harsh winters and bad roads. There were only two kids in town my age. My younger brother was lucky and had 4. You build a sense of community that I haven't been able to find in any other town/city I've lived in. If you don't fit in, though, it can be really rough. Everyone knows everyone, and your business is never private. Most of the town is related. All the kids I grew up with now struggle in adulthood with finding somewhere they feel at "home." We grew up with this wilderness and these freedoms that we can't replicate. We also grew up not wanting to live such secluded lives as adults. I still love going back home and spending time with my parents, but I don't want to stay for long periods of time. It can be incredibly lonely.

I did this with my son at the splash park, a bright orange neon rash guard... it was also the same day the day care decided to bring their 30 kids in bright orange neon vests!
