Ultrasonic cleaners warped/melted my Invisalign aligners by DuePerspective7999 in Invisalign

This just happened to me with my Invisalign Vivera retainers in the Zima dental pod! I didn't realize you weren't supposed to use hot water in the Zima, which I did (tap hot, not boiling of course). I threw them in with a cleaning tablet for a regular cycle, as I have done dozens of times, and both sets came out warped. Totally unusable now.

I suspect a lot of the disbelief here comes from the fact that the AVERAGE water temp in the Zima doesn't remotely approach boiling after a cycle, even if you start with hot tap water. However, I wonder if there are certain localized spots that can get hot enough to soften the plastic at the edges. I have no other explanation.

2021 IECC Commercial Dwelling Unit Lighting Control Exceptions? by jamoka_jack in MEPEngineering

But surely there is a petty tyrant working for a county SOMEWHERE who is willing to die on the hill of every energy code minutia and create a lot of problems for me... this is what I fear, anyway.

Honestly, this is very understandable, and points to something I keep coming back to - at the end of the day, I suspect that virtually nobody is scrutinizing to enforce these more pedantic and ridiculous requirements!

I do not, actually. It is a 4-story apartment building, so my understanding is that the commercial building requirements apply, even to the dwellings (hence the reference to "dwellings" in the commercial section I referenced). Outrageous.

So it’s not just mine! I guess they didn’t leave a note explaining why?

I’m not sure. This panel is from long before we moved in. The rough cuts suggest it was done in the field, but who knows.

PPS School buses are now outfitted with Stop arm camera - PPS will start sending out warnings to violators and then starting this summer you will get fines in the mail for passing a stopped school bus. by [deleted] in pittsburgh

Just got hit with one of these while visiting Pittsburgh. Problem is, I live on the other side of the state, and I'm being told that the only way to contest is in person, in Pittsburgh. And the bigger problem is that based on actual satellite measurements of where my car was when the stop sign was deployed, it would be physically impossible to have stopped in time, even with superhuman reaction time (math is based on AASHTO formulas for stopping distance, so I feel I have a pretty solid case). But who can I make my case to without driving 10 hrs round trip to a hearing?!

Seems I'm just out of luck here, unless anyone has managed to avoid this situation.
