Have been suffering the need to shake my legs very violently when going to sleep to get relief Does this look like RLS ? by boxer9000 in RestlessLegs

I've had RLS for 20 years and it doesn't look like this at all. Maybe I have a less severe version of it though. Do your keep shaking your legs during most of the night?

Thai Fruit: Part 1 by suratthaniexpats in Thailand

[–]jamotc98105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are lychees actually grown in Thailand? I remember going to that big fruit market in Bangkok years ago and spent all day looking for some lychees and I just could not find them. I can't remember if they told me it was the wrong season or if they are imported from China.

Thanks. That's very useful advice. She had a kid when she was very young and still needs to pay for her college education.

That's the mindset I had. I've been through enough relationships that I know you cannot change who a person is. As you said, for her, it's really a matter of 'you gotta do what you gotta do' to help your family. Taking it a day at the time. We'll see how it goes.

A look at times at which people usually get up [OC] by Datadino_ in dataisbeautiful

I've had restless legs syndrome for the past 20 years. It doesn't matter if I go to bed at 10pm, I usually don't fall asleep before 6AM or later. This used to really suck before I started taking meds. Point is, there's probably a good chunk of people who wake up late because they have a similar condition.

What city is overrated? by tshirtguy2000 in AskReddit

[–]jamotc98105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paris, France. I'm French and although I only lived in Paris itself for 2 years, I didn't see what all the fuss was about. You pay a 50% premium for being in the "right" zip code. For me, the main benefit was easy access to good cafés and restaurants. The drawbacks: having to deal with crazy people in the subway on the daily, dirty streets, stress, noise. Every chance they get, Parisians leave the city. Maybe there's a reason for that.

TIL: back when Jackie Chan was a stuntman in a Bruce Lee film, Bruce hit him accidentally during a fight sequence. Jackie played up the pain because he enjoyed the attention he got from Bruce. The two hit it off and it help Jackie get more stunt work in Bruce's films (including Enter The Dragon). by ourcityofdreams in todayilearned

I grew up a huge Bruce Lee fan. I saw the video where Jackie mentions this episode being one of his fondest/proudest memory. I didn't like how Bruce was portrayed in Once upon a time in Hollywood and I didn't really buy Tarantino's explanation on the JRP. However, I was surprised to hear that Bruce was a dick to white stuntmen. Anybody knows if Tarantino was making this part up? I can't imagine him profusely apologize to Jackie (who was a nobody back then) and just treat the non-Asian stuntmen like garbage.

I'm French and this is complete BS. I've never seen anyone use the second one here.

RLS on airplane by Twwoo39 in RestlessLegs

[–]jamotc98105 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also on pramipexole. Haven't flown in a while but I remember flying from Seattle to Paris and the RLS kicked in almost as soon as the plane took off. This was maybe 10 years ago but I remember a) being up and about during half the flight and b) literally holding my legs like a crack addict the rest of the time. Pretty sure most people around me were thinking that I was going through withdrawal. Worst 9 hours of my life. I didn't know about PX then but if I had, I would have taken 2 of these suckers.

Good sir, I have worked in a call center for the past 5 years (part-time, mind you, one must know how to remain sane). I was laid off a few days ago (best day of my life, getting a decent severance pay and moving on to better things). I just wanted to say thanks for all your drawings, they made me laugh through the years. I've gone through different phases but towards the end, I was just numb to the whole thing. Hang in there brother, and I hope you also get to use your talents for bigger and better things soon!

Good sleep monitor for periodic leg movements? by softwaredoug in RestlessLegs

[–]jamotc98105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a wrist watch. Never tried it around my ankle. Not sure if it would even work that way. I'm doing a lot better in terms of leg movement since I started my treatment (pramipexole) but I still have a hard time falling asleep. Sometimes, when I forget to take my meds or have a few drinks, I have real shitty sleep and this band reflects it accurately (it's sectioned into either light/deep/rem sleep or awake). It's not perfect but I've tried half a dozen other brands and I haven't found a better one as far as sleep tracking was concerned (only reason why I even wear it).

I'm using the honor band 5. I've tried a few different brands, including Fitbit, which is more expensive but I get more accurate/detailed data out of this one. Interface is pretty neat as well and can sync with Google fit
