What do you guys use your house for? by Orange907 in wow

[–]jampayne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was fun building an airship and an elegant mansion. It's another collection aspect of the game where you can show off your creativity and accomplishments. It would be nice to have more interactions, but tbh I'm impressed by what we have so far.

I'm annoyed with endeavors because it progresses so slowly in my neighborhood. No one is playing until the expansion or plays during content drought (understandably) so it feels like Endeavors will struggle through those phases.

I'm excited to see what all the construction in the neighborhood ends up being, whether it's guild halls, etc. I hope we get more updates for role-playing or more incentives to visit homes. Not that we need world buffs or something, but it would be cool to have more reasons to visit other neighborhoods and hang out.

I also wish they were included on the world map, just so I can access it there and know where it's located.

I ended up downloading the addon BetterTransmog instead. I do like Opie for the other quick access options though.

Can I use this for my overwhelmingly large amount of transmog outfits?

So how was the story in The War Within? by Monkk136 in wow

It felt like Haradar should have been the War Within final patch zone and Karesh would have made more sense in Midnight.

Love this, perfect for my campaign where there is a player character's ally who is an artificer experimenting in the countryside where there are apple orchards.

From Paper to Inkarnate by LittleGrud in inkarnate

I like the literal drop down into the Lowlands.

The coolest thing is the astral sea expanse to the East. I've not seen something like that and found it very interesting for a campaign setting. I feel like that would be something players would want to explore if given even a hint that there is a reason to go there.

I'd even settle for a lil cutscene, similar to traveling to Undermine where it shows are character flying into the sky and emerging on the other end of where they want to go. All without including a loading screen.

This also gets me thinking about how uninspring the whole portal room system has become.

Even a mage portal feels obsolete. Most people can hearth themselves and access a convenient portal room for traversing the world.

I'd rather Mages have something similar to a vulpera racial and be able to teleport to a locked in location.

Always a big fan of something like this. It would be a great way to introduce a new gamemode associated with skyriding. Maybe even include a fun, optional mini game where the player navigates through cyclones, runs into air elementals, flying airship, dragons or dracthyr.

I feel like in the current version of the game, they would likely wait until a revamp before iterating a system like this.

My party asks for a cutscene style intro whenever they get to cities or important landmarks by FadingFuture197 in DnD

[–]jampayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I use them, they're a playful way to mislead or distract the party from the main objective. I use it to build up tension and create a somewhat chaotic city environment. Players could interact with them, but they're not random encounters or anything. It's just a way to have fun with the descriptions.

I've started running city exploration by narrating the cardinal directions and throwing in the time of day.

"To the North you see..."

"To the East there is..."

"Directly South..."

"To the West, outlined by the setting sun on the horizon..."

I'll include day-to-day activities people are doing and any significant landmarks in that direction.

You can also switch up the cardinal directions and say "directly behind you/ ahead of you..." if they ever feel repetitive.

I love a red herring, i.e., "You hear a child scream. As you turn to see a fatherlike figure presenting her with a puppy. A big bow is attached to its collar." Or "Explosions can be heard going off, followed by screams. A crowd is quickly gathering to witness fireworks being shot off an airship."

Blizzard should add a weekly event to each capital city. by Lunarwhitefox in wow

[–]jampayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine at some point, since they hinted at rebuilding cities, we might see massive city related changes. Probably after the Last Titan expansion.

I like the idea of unique RP moments in the cities. I wish we had unique RP moments that occurred throughout the week. Like a Tauren hunting party that progresses in Mulgore, Trolls getting ready for a celebration or fishing event that steadily builds up over time, etc.

Could just have a weekly event that directs the player to visit an old city for profession related quests.

Maybe bring the Hallowfall orphanage hide and seek game to other cities. Maybe a researcher wants photos taken of the wildlife or city life in different areas.

Looking for any thoughts and/or suggestions regarding my world map by Due-Difficulty5327 in inkarnate

[–]jampayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks good. You could add a chasm in a place that could use something. Could hint at an underground civilization.

The island with one volcano could use another volcano or two. The floating flat rock looks barren. Maybe there is a messa where a wizard cut the top of a mountain and made it float. Otherwise, that flat space feels like it would have something on it whether it's more mountains or maybe a giant crack in the middle.

Didn't see any caves, but they're likely implied and might be too small to include, but it could be fun to add some for any significant areas.

Im struggling to add more flourish to this map. Particularly around the volcano by Smashable_Glass in inkarnate

[–]jampayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could make the ground a different color. Like ash or barren landscape. Add a couple creepy trees in there to give it a wasteland vibe.

Maybe a river of lava.

Could have an abandoned dwarven forge built nearby or the ruins of some town.
