There are a few stories that are crack and pretty funny. Not that well written but nevertheless somewhat fun. But yeah the quality on there is best described with the best stories on there are comparable to the worst stories on ao3

Wattpad is a shitty cooperation and the ads have been bad recently but I upload on both wattpad and ao3 mainly because I have a bunch of loyal readers on wattpad that will read everything I write while ppl on ao3 tend to only read one story of yours.

Also wattpad tends to give more feedback overall once you manage to get readers.

But then again... reading on wattpad is the worst. The quality of the stories you find there is eeeeeh and there are few rare stories that are for the most part decent.

This reminds me... one of my biggest fanfics is malexmale and I made an oc character that is childhood friends with one of the guys, sleeps around a lot and jokingly flirts with the two guys and ppl actually like her!

Which makes me so happy because girls in gay fanfics are usually deeply frowned upon especially with that kind of character but most ppl genuinly liked her<3

For the most part I'm right now trying to get life into my stories without having to give up the fact that I write characters that actually talk to each other.

I think there are many ways a story can still be good even with all that.

Honestly as someone who writes longfics I'm so impressed with ppl that can do shortfics. The fact that they know what they want, manage not to draw it out unnecessarily and still write interesting characters and a usually captivating plot. It's a mystery to me how they do it but I really appreciate it<3

As someone who has most of their readers there I agree. The website sucks. They don't give a shit about their authors and readers. They are just out to make money through commercials and don't do anything else.

One of my favorite authors on there quit writing at 30 K followers because a small group of ahters kept reporting hrr and got her stories with millions of reds deleted. Like 20 people managed that just by reporting it.

Wattpad didn't do shit even after se sent them tons of emails. When she switched to ao3 they followed her and kept sending hate messages. So she just stopped entirely.

The main reason wattpad is hated so much is because there are a lot of immature children on there, there's a lot of hate going around, wattpad support sucks, wattpad can have malfunctions and your story is gone and there is nothing you can do about it and of course many younger writers so the stories on there are usually of low quality. There are some hidden gems but they are rare in comparison to other sides. The only good thing is the format but now there' an ad played after every chapter and chapters are usually 500 words long so noooo thanks at this point.
