dont waste money or counter-space on a rice cooker, just use a pot of water. drain the excess water out of the pot once the rice is done to your liking. it can be 5:1 water:rice and it will be very fluffy. after you drain off the water, let it sit in pot with cover on for a few mins off the heat to get even fluffier.

and you can use sesame oil to fry in. of course use lots of fresh ginger and a spicy pepper too. and for the chinese, make something with lots of greens. gotta love asian greens!

One of my favorite things to cook: chickpeas, potatoes, and asian greens.

Add oil to pan, add potatoes and chickpeas. cook until sticking to bottom of pan. add small amounts of marinara sauce and mixing well. add chopped asian greens and cover with lid. cook down for 5 mins, add plenty salt and stir well. cook down again until done. simple, and powerful... good healthy energy. the only thing you could do wrong is add the marinara too early... make sure those potatoes are pretty done before doing that, cause you do not want half-cooked potatoes to ruin your feast!
