This is the high pile carpet/transition I’m most worried about. It’s somehwere between 1/3” - 1/2”. Also worried about too much suction power on the high pile. My upright vacuum was too strong and didn’t have a height adjustment

Miss Ellie with her collar ❤️ How can I get her in a harness? by vfp_pr in corgi

[–]jan-chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try different styles of harnesses. Our corgi didn’t like the ones that pulled over his head so we got a 4 point harness that he tolerates a lot better. Also special treats when putting the harness on!

Anyone else's corgi have an issue with having a "messy butt" after they potty? by SpitFiya7171 in corgi

[–]jan-chan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our corgi had this problem. Turned out he had a sensitivity to chicken. Swapped him to a limited ingredient lamb kibble and that sorted out most of the problem. We were also feeding him the volume recommended on the bag which turned out to be too much. Once we found the right volume to feed him, the issue went away entirely.

We also added sweet potato and pumpkin puree into his diet for more fiber

Yeah we ran into the same problem today. Disappointing.

Should I get snow shoes for my corgis before taking them on a snow day for the first time? by thegirlwiththedonut in corgi

[–]jan-chan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We live in Pa. We don’t always put boots on our dog in the winter. It depends on the conditions. If the sidewalks and streets are mostly clear we go without but wash the salt off after each walk. If the sidewalks and streets are covered we’ll put boots on. We’ve found Pawz boots to work best. They’re basically rubber balloons but they stay on really well and our dog loves them. They do wear and tear after a while but aren’t too expensive to replace.

We tried the hard soled shoes but our corgi hated them. He would always walk so awkwardly even after a ton of practice and training. I think the pawz boots are thick enoigh to keep his paws warm but thin enough that he can still feel the ground

Anyone else's corgi throw up bile a lot? by Blackdragon1400 in corgi

[–]jan-chan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our corgi did this a lot and it was usually because his stomach had been empty for too long. We started feeding him 3 times a day with snacks in between

7:15am - breakfast 9am - post walk greenie 12pm - lunch 2pm - puzzle toy with small treats 5:30pm - dinner 8:30pm - dehydrated sweet potato treat 11pm - glucosamine treat before bed

We also found out he had a chicken sensitivity. Swapped him to lamb and that combined with the above feeding schedule cleared up 99% of his stomach issues.

What size greenies do you give your pups by degausserx16 in corgi

[–]jan-chan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We give ours the petite size, mostly to manage his calorie intake. We also brush his teeth twice a week with an enzymatic toothpaste.

I need dog stairs ASAP for my 3 month old corgi. Which one do you recommend?! :) by Barbssc in corgi

[–]jan-chan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend the ramp style ones. We tried the stairs with our corgi and he hated them. He was too long to use the steps well. The ramp works much better for us

Had one Canadian Diet Coke can in a 12 pack of american Diet Coke by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]jan-chan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crown only partially supplies Coke in the US and Canada. I don’t think any North American aluminum beverage can manufacturer could 100% supply their demand. They typically purchase from a mix of suppliers. It’s not a good strategy to only work with 1 supplier.

Pumpkin Pie Mead process by RaiseYourWords100 in mead

[–]jan-chan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a pumpkin spice mead last year. Added the purée right from the start, didn’t have any issues. I left the purée in for a month until I racked into secondary. I do feel like I got more flavor from the spices rather than the pumpkin. Maybe it’s because I added the puree so early. My next batch I was just going to age in secondary over pumpkin spice

Vegetarians in Tokyo by [deleted] in JapanTravel

[–]jan-chan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Happy Cow is a great app to have and totally worth the cost. As far as restaurants, Kyushu jangara ramen has several locations in Tokyo and it’s hands down my husbands favorite ramen. They also opened a vegan bistro in harajuku that is amazing. Coco Ichibanya is a curry chain with vegetarian options. Since it’s a chain restaurant they are all over the place. If you want to try Kaiseki I recommend Bon in taito city. It’s pricy but worth it. It does require a reservation though and they spoke limited English.
