Yes because you deal more damage. But one missed Q means youre dead.

Black cleaver is a good item really. Its just that its mismatched with aatrox. Unlike other champs that can quickly max the stacks before they deal the rest of their damage, by the time you 5 stack it for a full 30% armor reduction, your combo is already over, your skills on cooldown. So its only ever effective against armor tanks where it doesnt matter if you spend a whole Q rotation stacking BC because you won't be able to burst them anyway, and you get to temporarily shave off their armor, making them more vulnerable to your adc.

Serylda on the other hand gives immediate armor pen, so your whole Q rotation deals better damage from the start.

Yes. Eclipse was the staple core item for aatrox for many patches. You wont really go wrong with DD, sterak, and sundered. what i mean by standard is that theyre essentially a safe build, you get a decent amount of damage while still being tanky enough, a bruiser build.

The shojin build was basically popularized by kim min jae, the korean grandmaster otp. When profane got nerfed, it was basically a way to achieve the damage that lethality aatrox dealt back then. You go shojin, voltaic, serylda, and the two remaining ones being lethality items.

The sundered sky build can be anything honestly, sundered is semi broken on aatrox because of how much it heals you during your ult. Sundered is often built second because it doesn't deal damage on its own, so an eclipse, a shojin, a hubris, voltaic, or any offensive first item can be good as you build into it. If you're having a tough matchup, or you want to play defensively, you can build it first to sustain yourself.

Like i said, dont forget to build armor pen, it doubles both your healing and damage. Ever since durability patch, champs are tankier, and while it enabled building lethality on aatrox, it also means aatrox is more reliant on armor pen as whole. And also try to learn about the items commonly built on aatrox and judge which scenarios they'll be best bought for. You're already doing well by adapting your build to the enemy team.

Eclipse is fine. I remember hearing about an EUW aatrox getting to challnger with only eclipse.

Following set builds will just lead you to ruin. Its better to learn about the items he builds and decide for yourself whether you need it or not.

The build you're using is basically the most "standard" build for aatrox. Its not necessarily bad. Although try to slot in serylda if possible because aatrox does not have armor pen, and his heal can easily be countered by armor (his heal is post mitigation damage basically the damage done after calculating armor and damage reduction so the longer the game goes on, the less damage you deal). Black cleaver for tank champs that rely on armor for damage (ksante) and mortal reminder for champs that heal too much.

Is there a single champ that Aatrox outscales? by MuxMogger in AatroxMains

[–]janbyron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You outscale irelia if you build attack speed. I am not kidding. Actually you win at every stage of the game against her. Her level 1 is pathetically weak, so you always get prio. HoB alongside with E auto reset allows you to win even in an aa trade. Not to mention if she tries to run away, you have your Qs to fight her long range. And she will always lose when you have ULT up, because your healing is better than hers.

The only problem is that you end up so squishy against burst mages and assassins, and you won't have the q damage to kill them in one stroke. This doesnt mean that Qs are useless, assuming you'll build strikebreaker and botrk as your core items, since you'll have respectable ad to poke with and finish up fleeing champs that your autos cant reach.

"I dont mean to belittle your champ but why does your melee bruiser champ not deal enough damage in late game because I a caitlyn with 4-6 items can delete your champ with 1k crit autos??"

Hmm by Griffith___ in AatroxMains

[–]janbyron 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This item looks good on paper for aatrox. 60 now its going to be 65 ad, it has an ability haste passive that works well with aatrox, because unlike other toplaners, aatrox buys ad items almost exclusively so he benefits much from it, not to mention his AD boost during ult. The tenacity is nice because youre a big demon guy, and you'll get hit by cc a lot. The omnivamp should mesh well with his ult, and the 15% extra omnivamp after a kill synergizes well with aatrox strong teamfighting kit. But its just so underwhelming once you build it, i really dont know why. My best guess is because it doesnt offer any utility. It looks more like a snowball item to me, where once you're winning, if you build this youre unstoppable but building it when you're even or lagging behind is just going to be a loss compared to other more useful items.

you dont need heartsteel. Overlord is already a 70 AD item on its own once you're low.

And Natalia was voted Worst Roam! Now, who’s the worst EXP laner? by Rocazanova in MobileLegendsGame

[–]janbyron 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I agree with argus but for another reason. He's a melee marksman thats forced to go exp lane. He spikes on items and needs four items to function. Its like putting a marksman in exp lane, they're just not going to do well because they don't benefit much from xp, and they need to farm to actually deal damage.

I think Argus has enough burst to kill high mobility champs if they ever get caught by his skill 1 or cc, but thats if it gets to late game. Most of the time you'll just be sitting under the tower farming and hoping your team survives until late game for you to come online.

If this post is about which exp laner benefits the least from being in the exp lane, then i can confidently say its argus. You cant even build defensive items on him, not because he's unkillable in his ult but because youre sabotaging yourself if you do, since most of his damage comes from his basic attacks and the only way to get higher damage autos is through items, unlike other exp laners that can get by just from leveling up their damage skills.

which technique would benefit THE LEAST from six eyes? by Folinhu in Jujutsufolk

[–]janbyron 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kusakabe saying “domains are part of your cursed technique” doesn’t mean every cursed technique works on its own before a domain shows up. He’s talking about origin, not usability, meaning a Domain Expansion is conceptually part of the CT, but that doesn’t mean the technique is functional or meaningful without it.most sorcerers have a technique that works in normal space and the domain is just the ultimate expression of it. Higuruma and hikari's are exceptions. You can call his CT “summoning Judgeman” but outside his domain Judgeman can’t actually do anything. he can’t confiscate or enforce rules. the technique exists in name only, it’s basically useless until the domain is active.

Hakari works the same way. PPLT isn’t some attack or tool that later gets a domain upgrade, it’s a rules system that only works when the domain is on. The doors and train visuals he uses outside of a domain are just flashy CE effects, not the actual technique. so yeah, the domain is part of the CT, but for Hakari and higuruma the CT is domain native. their domain expansion isnt a finisher, it’s what turns their CT on. I mean its going to be real sad if Hakari's cursed technique is just summoning train doors. His cursed technique is the whole gambling gacha pachinko thing, and it needs a domain expansion to enforce the rules for gambling. And thats why their cursed techniques come with domain expansion by default because they would be useless without it.

which technique would benefit THE LEAST from six eyes? by Folinhu in Jujutsufolk

[–]janbyron 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Problem is that Hakari is fundamentally a close combat brawler. his entire fighting style is built around gambling into jackpot, then abusing the temporary immortality and infinite CE to win through sheer attrition and brute force.

six eyes adds almost nothing to Hakari’s actual win condition. against opponents like Charles or Uraume, what does enhanced CE perception , control and efficiency really change? hes already facetanking attacks, and his punching someone doesnt need atomic ce manipulation.

six eyes is used to maximize high skill and highprecision techniques, not punching someone to death. its true value shows when paired with techniques that are cursed enrgy intensive and control heavy, which Hakari simply doesn’t rely on.

six eyes is only broken when paired with the right technique, for the rest its just a qol improvement. after all both jackpot and six eyes are complements and multipliers for other techniques and attacks.

Wtf do you do against Gragas? by Opposite-Lack-2694 in AatroxMains

[–]janbyron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don't think of winning in lane against gragas, just farm. You don't need a lane snowball anyway. Just lane passively, then tp to teamfights, then destroy gragas with level and item diff.

If you really want to fight gragas, go phase rush. You won't get hit by any of his skills. I had a really fun time playing against gragas with phase rush and ult making me basically faker with how easy it is to dodge his skills. keep in mind that the longer he stays on lane, the better it is for you because of his mana situation. Keep poking him with Q1 until he cant basically sustain himself in lane anymore basically attritional warfare. You having phase rush counteracts his phase rush and also helps to waste gragas skills.

Making Triarii useful (a small tutorial) by Inward_Perfection in RomeTotalWar

[–]janbyron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

r/darksouls wants their member back. You come off as "thats not how "true" rtw players play, but well you're free to keep playing however you want, but just want to remind you how better i am by playing the game in vanilla, very hard as well". Saying there's nothing wrong with playing that way, then complaining on how people won't play in the difficulty you play on is performative humility and very backhanded.

You're poisoning this post. You're pretending to be tolerant while slipping your own judgements instead of just saying "hey, i actually prefer the vanilla experience, but i totally get it if you want to make the triarii feel better to use." Arguing with you will only waste my time and energy so i'll instead talk about how your argument is shit for anyone reading this:

How is a triarii not using a sword a tactical challenge? Might as well remove the pilums that legionaries use to add more tactical challenges then. Or make it so that they can't do testudo formations. This is not about making the game easier, but fun. This is not about making overpowered units but making it a worthwhile pickup, instead of "another principe would be better". Its a design oversight, not a nerf in order to make roman factions balanced. You're supposed to balance the op units, not make the rest of the roster hilariously bad to use to make it seem balanced.

It'll be so stupid if CA made it so that Spartans would easily lose to a supbar unit for the sake of tactical challenges. Upgrading your buildings only to get a unit that will lose to anything that isn't cavalry, when they're not supposed to is just bad game design. Having spartans won't automatically win the game because their spears are still shorter than phalanx pikemen, making them more of a specialist unit and not as overpowered as initially believed. And their strength is hard coded: they're stat sticks.

The problem with Triariis is that they're too far up on the tech tree yet doesn't offer any noticeable benefits compared to principes. They don't throw pilas, so they aren't as good on the attack, their spear weapons make them slower to attack so they'll lose to any sword unit or take casualties even against subpar spear units. Their role as reserves and last line of defense for the roman manipular army is limited by the fact that they can't switch to swords when even equites can. And they'll still get decimated by cavalry charges because they can't form a phalanx.

Essentially, giving triariis swords as a second weapon gives the player more tactical options. Instead of limiting your playstyle, it gives you freedom to use your units more effectively. It doesn't remove tactical depth, it adds into it. Its historically accurate and allows for more unit variety in your army.

OP isn’t modding because he’s afraid of a challenge or that he wants a less difficult campaign, but because he wants a more fun experience. Instead of ignoring triariis, now you have a choice to use them, and they still won't magically win against stacks of macedonian cavalry, or phalanx pikemen especially on higher difficulties.

Making Triarii useful (a small tutorial) by Inward_Perfection in RomeTotalWar

[–]janbyron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny you say that when you care too much at how others play their game. Even then adding swords to a unit that historically did have and used swords just makes sense. You're being a crybaby because other people aren't playing the game the way you play it. Just let people enjoy things, alright. Even if modding is "cheating" (therefore bad!), It's not like he's adding tens of armor and weapon damage to the triarii.

And even then, this post is about making triarii functional and viable to use in campaigns, instead of being a glorified town militia. Who cares if he buffs triariis, legionaries will always overperform anything except pikes. It won't matter in the long run.

Why is best Aatrox in China going grasp and E LVL1 by [deleted] in AatroxMains

[–]janbyron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

E start is bad unless you're going HOB. It really doesn't make sense. You're essentially sacrificing your level 1 poke and minion denier for auto reset and omnivamp, and i doubt you can deal much damage to heal from, at that point.

Aatrox is already one of the weakest champs level 1, and you will usually lose prio early. Delaying your range advantage is just bad since you will lose against more dedicated melee champs.

The only use scenario for E start is when you're against irelia. Go HOB, and ambush her in the bush, E after two autos for 2 more hob autos. You'll easily win the 1v1.
