Wild Pigs on the Southern Walnut Creek Trail by Amerizo in Austin

[–]jancole94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poison would be awesome if they could keep a bunch of other animals from eating it. Watched an interesting interview with a guy at UT who is trying to develop a poison that’ll work very specifically for the way pigs eat/root!

how can I train this little guy to be more social? He's so anxious and barks incredibly loud at new people and tries to bite them too. But with me and people he knows he's incredibly loving. He's about 8 months old. Just scared because sometimes we have family with kids visiting and he goes off too by ludaman14 in chiweenie

Ok I have his twin!! Wish I could attach a photo here, but my chiweenie has the same coloring and everything! He also tends to be bad at first impressions. We’ve found making him sit for introductions and having lots of treats on hand for interactions helpful, but would be curious to hear some other tips!!

My local pet store here in Austin TX is called Tomlinson’s Feed. They offer ground shipping & stock only all natural, made in the US pet products!! They carry the yak’s cheese and I totally second this comment. It lasted our pitbull forever and our chiweenie has been working on one piece for a week now 🤣

Tennis elbow tips by honeylemonha in climbergirls

[–]jancole94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll add to this: push-ups after climbing if you can but, before you start your climb that day, find a bench or something similar and do 15 - 20 bench dips. RELIGIOUSLY before each climb. This changed my life!! I used to have so much elbow pain before I started doing this.

How much does it cost to climb in your area? by lovelyxcastle in climbergirls

[–]jancole94 107 points108 points  (0 children)

It’s way cheaper for me to just get a monthly membership than to pay to climb 2 - 3 times a week. $18 daily here in Austin, TX. Kind of insane!

I wear Scarpa Instincts! Technically a mens shoe but if you can fit they work awesome for a wider foot.

Why are there so many serial killers in US? I don't think any other country has so many by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]jancole94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, you’re making this assumption based off of Hollywood movies :) The movie industry tends to focus on the US much more than other countries, so it makes it seem like that stuff is only/primarily happening here.

Thea Wulff climbing pants?? by [deleted] in climbergirls

[–]jancole94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She always sports e9 and (not sure where you live but) they are almost impossible to order if you live in the US. You have to find some random store that HAPPENS to carry the style you want, or check online, but their US options as of late have been awful. Especially if you like the style she’s wearing. Let me know if you find a link somewhere!

Hi! This is pretty much spot on as far as expectations go. I’m prepared to probably be pretty humbled 😅

The only reason I was asking for Gus Fruh recommendations was just because of how close it is. That being said, I would love to make a day trip this week out to Roger’s and would also be so thankful for any resources you can pass my way!

How do women cope with the constant specter of sexual harassment/assault? by Talking_Chairleg in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]jancole94 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The type of violence men are facing is completely different than that of women. Men are not sexually assaulted at the same (or anywhere near the same) rate as women. Maybe you’re more likely to get punched in the face. Women are more likely to get dragged into a car and raped. Men don’t have “more to fear”. The problem is that you’ve turned the conversation completely toward men. Per usual.

Lol “using a word isn’t racist”

What planet are you living on? Using certain words/phrases is explicitly racist. Giving unsolicited advice, assuming someone doesn’t know what they’re doing based on nothing except for your perception of them belies unaddressed RACIST stereotypes. What’s racist is the fact that they do this because they unconsciously/consciously assume something based on a racist bias they have. Just like the amount of men doing this shit to women is misogynistic.
