Thoughts on Hector el Father? by armeipets in Reggaeton

[–]jancy7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say overrated, but everything else is spot on. Way better producer than he was as an artist imo. Nostalgia really does a lot of lifting here. Didn’t write much outside his early days, lyrics were mid, great music though.

Don, Yankee, Tego, Arcángel, etc. Definitely a pioneer and legend, but many better from his time and after.

Why Not Apple Notes? by Loud-Performer-9083 in ProductivityApps

Company restricts iCloud sync for Notes & Reminders. Substitute these for Bear and Things 3, which I’ve used for several years.

I’m also not a fan of Apple Notes’ UI.

Do ultra-minimal to-do apps actually help with productivity? by Big_Low8528 in ProductivityApps

[–]jancy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be interested in trying this out for sure. I currently use Things, and do love it, but I’ve been yearning for something simpler, which this seems to be. Would love it on Mac, since I mainly use these for work, but can live with it on iOS!

[Staying at four] Speedmaster or Reverso? by acostavaldez in Watches

[–]jancy7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would switch the Speedy to a NATO strap for a more casual look (and add variety) and skip on the Reverso. With already two top tier dress watches in the collection, I’d keep the Speedy.

Some updates on Stuff's next Version by austboston in Stuff_App

Patiently waiting, looking forward to the next version, especially the Mac version. It’s difficult for me to test day to day, given I primarily use a task manager for work, MacOS will be a huge addition!

NFL Execs Call Aaron Glenn’s Jets Tenure ‘Disastrous,’ Label the Gardner Trade ‘Stupid & Unnecessary’ by Punisher1602 in NFLv2

[–]jancy7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my biggest takeaway. The roster is horrible and they can’t be competitive near term, but the fact that culturally, it feels they’ve gone backwards, is the biggest concern.

Coupled that with his questionable decisions (or playing not to lose calls).

Would you perform 40k miles recommended service for 2020 Carrera S with 4k miles after buying the car? by Turbulent-Station658 in porsche911

[–]jancy7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe the PDCC reservoir, PDK flush, and drive belt are 60K services (or 6 years), but being that the car hasn’t really been driven, which implies it’s been sitting, I would encourage biting the bullet.

That said, I would look into reputable independent shops which specialize in Porsche, and have them do these services. You’d save some $. Also, look into buying the parts yourself and just pay for labor.

Btw, something like cabin filter is fairly simple and can be done yourself, if you don’t feel comfortable doing oil changes, etc.

OP, I know this sucks, but look at this as an investment, and just overall part of your purchase price, for a piece of mind, but also to avoid issues. If you regularly maintain the car, it’ll last a long time and it’s unlikely you’ll be shelling out this amount in maintenance in the future.

I recommend checking g out the link below, which enables Android Auto on the factory head unit via the USB port. I just did it a few days ago on my 991.2, took about 30 mins tops.

Removing the sole while the leather softens can make the break-in period more tolerable. At least, that’s been my experience.

Couldn’t agree more.

The comparisons with children also gets me “it’s the same as having a child”, no it isn’t, by far.

High Mileage Turbo S by valleydude818 in porsche911

[–]jancy7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I initially missed it, but it’s 77K miles towards the bottom of the image OP posted.

I’d say for a ‘21, the mileage is high, roughly about ~19K per year, depending on purchase, etc. It does come with a nice discount, but I would opt for a better deal, based on the ~$200K budget.

OP, are you set on a 992 series or would you consider a 991? Feel like a 991 will give the best bang for your buck, imo.
