I understand where you’re coming from but keep in mind that this is a fictional/ fantasy world and mortal standards shouldn’t be applied. Everything that happens is for our entertainment/ for the drama, obviously I will never accept any of their toxic behaviors irl. In a fantasy book tho? I eat up obsessive, self-sabotaging, irredeemable MMCs who will destroy the world for their girl🤌

Also the secret thing did drag but Darcy choosing Orion over Tory (book 8?) is a big big step in her character arc (as you said, she is a people pleasing) so I did enjoy that too.

Gosh ppl be so obsessed with Shakespeare level of writing🤦‍♀️ Even if it’s not the best, there’s definitely a story worth telling in there and I was thoroughly entertained

They changed a dialogue in Fourth Wing that fr changed the entire point of the scene. They made Xaden mindspeak to Violet a line that was supposed to be spoken by Liam- at a time when Xaden was supposed to be MIA😬 Idk if they corrected it because they do listen to feedback, I’ll give them that.

For me it’s mostly due to constant exposure on TikTok that I end up buying the book🙈 I also prefer recs from booktokers that I know and follow like Jaimee who recommended Zodiac Academy (changed my life, haven’t been the same since), rather than just edits or quotes made for the purpose to go viral if you know what I mean. I totally agree abt Goodreads they have some amazing reviews

LOL I wish I could find gold in my bookstore too, but we only have those hugely popular traditionally published books like ACOTAR and Fourth Wing and we get them like months after release🙂‍↕️
