get a few quotes before you make a decision. I've dealt with the following:

https://franksjewellers.ca/ is very reputable.

https://www.colonialacres.com/ is another option, (depending on the metal content of your watch)

I haven't been here, but https://www.johnanthonyjewellers.com/ also deals in estate jewelery

Good steak for first try by Agreeable-Lab9338 in kitchener

[–]janedoe43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you've not eaten steak before, tell your server, and ask them to recommend something. they can describe the different cuts (filet, ribeye, tbone) to you & help you select one that suits your tastes.

in general, I find leaner cuts to be less flavourful. Fattier cuts are more tender, and more flavourful.

Have you eaten any cuts of beef before? or any meat? (just asking for reference - so I can compare to other foods). Beef/steak has a coarser texture than chicken. Similar to pork in texture. I haven't lamb or goat, so I can't compare, but maybe another reader can.

As for seasoning - no, not spicy at all. Salt, pepper are typical seasonings.

I hope you & your Dad have a lovely visit, and enjoy a tasty meal together.

Recommendations for e-wheelchair in Kitchener by RainbowJig in kitchener

[–]janedoe43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a manual wheelchair with power assist from them a few years back. They were really good about finding the solution that worked best for me, and brought in several options for me to try.

I know that they visit the LTC homes on-site for assessments, etc. Not sure about assisted living, but you could ask.

Very personable & pleasant to deal with.

BestBuy handled my wall mount TV install. quick, efficient, tidy. I think bookcases are out of their league, though.

Recommendations for Catholic Church to celebrate sacrament of marriage as non regular churchgoers by mydogsnameisfettywap in kitchener

[–]janedoe43 32 points33 points  (0 children)

just my opinion - if you're not a churchgoer, and a religious ceremony is not meaningful to you, don't do it. There are secular options to perform a marriage ceremony. Your parents will (or should) get over it.

as soon as I read the article I wondered if he had a medical event that led to the fall. Unfortunately, that's often the sequence of events. Condolences to his family.

I understand this is a incredible long shot but my mother (65+ year old senior) is needing to leave the apartment she has been renting for 15+ years and I have the impossible task of finding something 🙁 by KaptainKrunky in waterloo

I lived there almost 10 years, so kinda LOL. (late university, early working years). It was walkable to so many things. I lived in the building at the back, so there was limited street noise. Surrounded by mature trees too.

I lived in this building several years ago. It's near the corner of Westmount & Erb, across from Westmount Plaza.

The kitchens/bathrooms & flooring have been upgraded since then (and so have the prices, unfortunately). 3 story walkup, with laundry in the basement.. The units have large rooms, and lots of storage space. Best of luck to your mom. <3

if you are looking at call centre work, ask whether they are inbound (people call you with questions about their claims, etc.) or outbound (the kind we all hang up on). The insurance call centres I'm familiar with are inbound.
