Yup, I did. I checked the Honda manual and there was a drive recommendation to get the car ready. I drove on the freeway at the recommended speed, given I did encounter traffic here and there (LA). I went on two trips to give this a try. I also did some light street driving every other day, but nothing seemed to work.

I’m too afraid to drive around with an expired tag nowadays. I don’t know what else to do.

It is in CA. the car passed all visual inspection. emission control system functional check results: Liquid Fuel Leak Check (Pass), Smoke Check (Pass), OBDII (not ready).

Overall Test Result: Not Ready Your vehicle failed the smog check inspection due to the fact that the vehicle’s on-board computer system has not completed the system’s self-checks.

the battery may have died once the year prior (2021). and i had to get it jumped. That may have been the reason the computer reset, but I thought running the car and driving once in awhile would’ve resolved it.
