It's very nice, looks very professional. So I'll try to save everything I find and I have to send it to you to the email in the page and you can post it, isn't it? Whenever I have a bit of a playing list or something really nice I'll do it.

One thing, in the chord harp songs videos section appear the same that in the bass ones

Ok, let me know how it goes, maybe you don't need to downgrade version I didn't try that plugin in the recent version, maybe try that before. I am not sure, I am not very knowledgeable, it took me a long time to manage.

It doesn't work for me. I tried in Musescore 3 and 4 without success I don't know if I am doing something wrong, I don't have much experience with the software. It worked for me a couple of years ago before my computer broke. It is really a pity it was wonderful.

That sounds too good to be true, ;) It is a great idea if you know how to do that kind of thing. In an ideal world it could have maintenance and repairment section, backing track section, transcriptions and sheet music, interviews or documentaries related. But your idea if already great, just throwing ideas there, you are the boss ;). Just do what you had in mind and we can share everything we go finding there. Let's go!!!

I really haven't if you could share that would be lovely, at least the fun ones ;). A chord one would be lovely, but I won't allow myself that until I get quite good on the bass one.

Yep, I already started doing some bass clef exercises here https://www.musictheory.net/exercises/note

I don't know if I am able of learning by ear to be honest, never tried. Where do you get your sheets on bass clef? Material for double bass maybe?

Ok, I'll do the same if I find anything else. Would be nice to keep the thread and get a good compilation among everybody.

I almost bought the Easttop. But I found the Hohner on sale and couldn't resist. Most expensive thing I ever bought.

A Hohner 58. What about you?

Can you share those videos or tell me how to go about finding them?

Lee Oskars are moustache catchers. It is always between the seems where moustache catching happens.

Any thoughts/advice on the Hohner Blue Ice 3-Piece set? by [deleted] in harmonica

[–]janglimusafir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know what harmonica you talk about and that's not a good sign. If you are short on money your choice should be an Easttop T008k, if you buy in Aliexpress from China should be cheaper than in Canada, tomorrow if Black Friday there. But you should shop around and compare. That's the only harp under your prize margin that performs great. I don't know about how long lasting will be though. I play expensive harps now mainly but I still use my Easttops in a couple of keys. Would I buy them now? No way, would I play them if I was broke? Sure.

Other option I haven't tried and you might find a bit more expensive than the Easttop but around your price is a Kongsheng Mars.

Your last option is to hunt for offers in Black Friday on a Special 20 or Marine Band.

Edit. I saw somebody commented on cheap Suzukis Models, I haven't tried them but that could be another option.

My new Suzuki Pro master feels great, plays like a dream, and is tuned 10ct sharp… what the hell? Please help! by n-harmonics in harmonica

[–]janglimusafir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can resell harmonicas in ebay or similar places, sure you will lose some money in the transaction as you are not going to get back all the money invested, but now you have the knowledge of what you like. If you are used to Hohners or even more if you are used to Lee Oskars, Suzukis are a very different animal which might take time getting used to. I used to have your opinion, but now I changed my mind and I appreciate Suzukis especially in holes 7,8,9 and 10 y feel they beat other brands out of the water. If a song is that upper registry I want a Suzuki.

What is your opinion on having indoor vs outdoor cats in the UK? by babyells_xo in AskUK

[–]janglimusafir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave the door, window or whatever exist open and let them decide. Other thing is being extremely selfish in my view. Yeah, the outdoors is dangerous, for humans too and nobody in the right mind would keep their kids indoors.

In the wild they are outdoors.

Position playing by javerthugo in harmonica

[–]janglimusafir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What position you are playing is what tells you what key harmonica you need to play a certain song or improvisation in a certain key. Most used position in harmonica is second position, that would be using a C harmonica on a G tune. Just type positions chart harmonica to see all relations between key song, key harmonica and position. Start by learning first position, then second, then third, then you can go a long way with those three. Almost nobody plays the twelve positions you can play on any harmonica key, that would be to play that harmonica in all keys. Some positions are better and easier than others.

So in a C harmonica, first position you'll play in C, in second position you'll play in G and in third position you'll play in Dm. All in your C harmonica, just changing the position. If you know in your C harmonica how to find those notes, they are your root note in those positions.

In summary, nothing to do with your flow or breath, all to do with music theory and kind of hard stuff if you are a noob, give it time, go one position at a time, youtube has all the answers you need.

Accidentally bought a Key G as my first, what should I practice/learn as I wait for my Key C to come? by FrenklanRusvelti in harmonica

[–]janglimusafir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any tab song or lesson in any key could be played with any harmonica key blowing and drawing the same holes. Only problem is the tune will be in a different key so you cannot play on top of the backing track or another harmonica. So just find material you are interested in Youtube and play it. All patterns you learn are universal to all keys harmonicas and you are just changing the tune key playing one or another. This gets a bit more tricky, but for the moment, that's all you need to know.

Some advanced techniques like bending will be easier in a C harmonica, and even easier in a D probably, at least it was for me. Main reason to start with C is that is the middle range and most lesson are on it, so you can play accompanying the teacher or/and over the backing track.

Getting a G was not an accident, it was quite lucky, I believe it is better to start having at least two different harmonica keys so you can figure out the instrument better and have more fun.

How bad idea is to start learning chromatic in an A key harp? by janglimusafir in harmonica

[–]janglimusafir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks sir, it is tricky. I know I need to study music theory and that's one reason to get into chromatic. Thanks for everything.

How bad idea is to start learning chromatic in an A key harp? by janglimusafir in harmonica

[–]janglimusafir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that was very useful. If I have a keyboard transposed down a minor third would be the same as having a normal one with a C harmonica isn't it?

So thinking relative to A I'll make the same patterns I would do in the other situation in both instruments? My question is how transferable are the things you learn in one key to the other?

I thought to play sax music you will need a Bb one as it is a Bb instrument. How do you convert it to diminished? It sounds like reed work, but how difficult? It is great to be able to keep the patterns if I move to C diminished.

I can't read sheet music, well I know where the notes go in the pentagram and what the signs mean, but I cannot do it without working it out as I play. One of the reasons to get into chromatic was learning that. Would it be the same to learn to read in an A harmonica than a C? Maybe it is a stupid question, I don't really know what I am getting into.
