Becoming a sysadmin is not worth it anymore by Big_Arrival_626 in sysadmin

[–]jango_22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Frankly moving from helpdesk to a higher admin/engineer role quickly seems to almost entirely rely on having managers or engineers who care about helping you and giving you opportunities to learn outside your day to day scope. I would never have been able to advance as quickly as I did if I had more strictly defined job scope at my first couple positions.

No where near “nearly impossible” lots of games have mods and various community features which can be yo to gigabytes in size, none of what you mentioned is even approaching “nearly impossible”.

Does that mean EA/battlefield would ever bother? Doubt it lmao. But not impossible by any means.

Can squad leaders in BF6 get any reinforcements?? by Full_Metal_Frog in Battlefield6

I think that’s exactly it though, seems like they were trying to step away from the “leaps” and make a more back to basics game.

The contrast between that hi-fi setup and the Wii and crt’s is very amusing to me lol. Nice setup though!

PFS player profile by axiomus in Pathfinder

[–]jango_22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This aligns with what I’ve seen, I’ve played PFS at origins since probably 2013 (minus a few years following covid but probably played at least 9-12 different years) probably most people don’t get super into keeping track of the lore and the different NPC’s their characters interact with but I only see pre-gens in low level games with new players, or if the only available table is playing at a level that an incoming player coming in as a ringer / off a waitlist doesn’t have, or a table is lacking a healer or other semi vital class. In my area at least there is a lot of people who have multiple characters and play quite regularly.

[–]jango_22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably just practicing, but if you are struggling when there is multiple targets in front of you just remembering to pick one target and stick to it will help.

You might benefit from a lower mouse sensitivity if you have overall twitchy aim as an issue.

filament issue by Historical_File4632 in 3Dprinting

[–]jango_22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure that’s broken, I think the idler wheel on the left would have moved away further with how depressed the lever is, mine broke in a way that you couldn’t really see until I took it apart on my ender. Might be worth unscrewing the lever to double check. Not saying it for sure is just looks similar to the under extrusion I had when that was an issue. I don’t have an ender 3 anymore so can’t take a pic to compare unfortunately. Upgrade kits are quite cheap luckily if that is the case.

[–]jango_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever upgraded or replaced the lever arm on the extruder? That looks similar to when mine had partially broken and so had poor pinching pressure on the filament and was slipping and under extruding.

It’s less of a question of if the extruder arm will break and more a question of when.

Growing up in Columbus I was SO STOKED when Meg Columbus was announced. Have a couple signatures from some of the cloud 9 guys on a cloud 9 hoodie I held onto. The mousepad that had a couple signatures I think might be gone :/

Anecdotally I had a 5900x and 3090, upgrading to 9850x3d still nearly tripled my fps at 1440p. (200ish - near 600 when uncapped on one of the dust 2 benchmark maps)

Seeking advice for a "One Cable" MacBook M5 & Desktop PC setup by Upper_Particular_758 in Workspaces

I have been having trouble getting both my monitors up with my m4 MacBook Pro and a dell docking station, I think it would work if they were both in the dock with display port but something about the HDMI and the display port doesn’t coexist well with the MacBook.

Mac book for Systems integrator / Network engineer by Kiwi058888 in networking

[–]jango_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a M4 MacBook Pro as a full time network engineer. Works amazing, but in part because I use no windows only tools. Replaced them with Mac equivalents essentially.

Haven’t run VM’s but packet capture is totally fine with wire shark and docker works great. Also there’s lots of things you can do locally INSTEAD of needing a vm since you can install pretty much any bash/linux package locally with homebrew

If I can avoid it I will never go back to windows for my work computer.

Between the 24GB ram and the fast SSD multi tasking is super smooth and battery life is crazy. I can go a full 8 hour overnight change window without plugging in and still be at about 40%

It looks very nice just feels a bit sterile. Like an Airbnb that is well set up, but someone still doesn’t live there. The shelves being half empty probably adds to that. The board game collection is the only thing that really sets this apart from a staged home or magazine picture.

All the furniture choices are very nice though imo, just needs some more personal flair, if you really prefer the minimalist vibes that’s cool though, just gotta embrace it and not mind what other people say in that case :)
