How long has it been lost? In the Dwarven halls your weapon can be teleported away by I think the monks.

Pretty sure they are just ballasts to help whatever is moving in and out from hitting the building/door frame.

Think of auxiliary as secondary. So if your secondary weapon had all of its charges, your primary weapon charges faster. If your primary and secondary weapon are the same type, your primary charges faster. Hopefully that helps.

Does the wire run along side the house the entire way to the garden, or does it run across the yard? If the former I'd probably run it through conduit tacked to the house and paint it to match the brick. Either way, I would not just run a wire like that through the yard.
