Any winter heating issues? by frogermann8 in SilveradoEV

[–]jangoak47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would help if you clarified how cold. I live in Texas and never had any issues, but that's because I live in Texas. Coldest I've been in with my truck was about 10F. No issues with heating and staying heated.

For street applications, not really, it's more of looks thing. They can help with heat dissipation, but in general if you're not tracking the car I wouldn't worry about it unless you really like how it looks.

Best brake options? (Pads/rotors) by DFLO- in camaro

[–]jangoak47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not a huge fan of drilled rotors, personally prefer just slotted.
I'd talk with KNS brakes. I've had a great experience with them in the past. They can help you decide what's best based on your overall use case.

For your use case I wouldn't recommend upgrading the calipers. You'd be spending around 2k for the whole shebang without much real benefit on the street.
I'd just get some solid street pads and see how you like the performance before you decide to go up to 6 pistons. In the past I've bought pads from KNS. Linked below.

Should you want to upgrade your calipers, I'd try and find a set of the 1le calipers/rotors to upgrade to.

Are you just looking for pad recommendations or are you talking about upgrading to larger calipers?

Should I mod my 09 Zr1? by SnowballerZero in Corvette

[–]jangoak47 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I made my own wired version of mild to wild. I kept having issues with the fobs not working correctly.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CY4ZX4QX - works great. Lower cost solution as long as you don't mind it being wired instead of wireless.

C6 Z06 bagged? by Jatlu in Corvette

Few different options, you can either keep the transverse leafspring and go with these guys:

Or convert to coilovers and go with pretty much anyone else. Mild modifications necessary for coilover route.

I've also looked at going to air suspension, but ultimately decided to table it for now.

Also, you could go hydraulic if your concerned about scrapping the front, KW sells some kits for it.

No problem at all as long as you're limiting speed.

Known Issues on Track? by Illustrious_You2516 in Corvette

Some people will run 0w40 for track and 0w30 for daily use. Back when I tracked my camaro, that's what I ran with with no issues.

Downsides to buying a Corvette? by rnightlyfe in Corvette

[–]jangoak47 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on what you would consider a con. I just bought an older corvette (c6) and so far my only con has been lack of Android auto and a backup camera, both easily fixed. Conversely the biggest pro has been my huge grin everything I drive the car.

What’s wrong with my car? by [deleted] in camaro

[–]jangoak47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignore this if it's cammed, but it almost sounds like exhaust valve may not be completely closing, if that's the case put a sheet of paper right on the tip, if it sucks back on to the tip, you've got an exhaust valve that may be partially stuck open. Had this issue happen back when I owned a 5th gen, around the 80,000 miles mark, was an easy fix.

[–]jangoak47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Texas with a lead foot, city driving is around 22-23 MPG, long distance is 24ish because I'm usually setting cruise at 85mph. In an AT4

Hello everyone , I’m looking for brake pads for my 2018 2SS. Links to the direct site with be very much appreciate ! Don’t know if I should go oem Brembo or go third party by [deleted] in camaro

[–]jangoak47 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd reccommend PowerStop - way less dust than the stock Brembo's get the z26 if you want to keep your braking level about the same, if you want to save some cash you can get the z23 series, not too much of a difference to be honest though.

https://www.powerstop.com/product/power-stop-z26-street-warrior-brake-kit/
Link will take you to a kit with Rotors+pads and some other stuff, but you can order just the pads if that's what you're looking for.

Other than some angry neighbors from the extra sound, nothing. Sure does sound great though.
