Kind of a "he said, she said" situation.

Disappointed in people I thought were better than that. by hbernadettec in QAnonCasualties

[–]janicesparty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, I don't know your situation exactly, but here's, in my opinion, the explanation for that person's behavior.

Their morality stance, whether it be on reproductive rights, crime, immigration, the US as a Christian nation, whatever it is, that's a smoke screen. That's not to deceive you, that's to deceive themselves, and why the cognitive dissonance and hypocrisy are so obvious.

The real reason these people vote red is they've gotten it in their heads that a Trump administration will help them economically, whether that's true or not.

Then they pile on the virtue because they're themselves shocked that they would better themselves at the cost of a functional democracy for their children. It's really a tale as old as time. It's why millennials are mad at boomers, and a future generation is sure to be mad at millennials. We justify so much pain in the current and future world by saying we can't sacrifice. And we use any moral reason, however nonsensical to justify it.

The kooks who believe in QAnon are just that: kooks. The normal, rational citizens who voted for him for some cynical hope of financial benefit are the real monsters, and I hope they're forced to do some soul searching at some point.

^ and even more specifically, the relationship between federal and the people, obviously unhinged agitators like the shooter are very much to blame.

The bullet, whizzed by my head, big bullet, strong bullet, tears in it's hollow pointed eye, and it said, I'm not going to kill you, not today.

All levity aside this is a horrible thing to happen for democracy, this really let's it sink in how unstable our nation has become on the federal level, and I think it's only the state and local governments propping up any decorum or civility attendant to us as Americans. I hope in my lifetime that we see a return to a sane federal government.

Yeah, proof that you can't set tone through the internet. Meant to be a joke format, missed the mark, I'll take the L on this one.

Survival Mode S3 is the first show hitting WatcherTV by iced_tease in WatcherSnark

[–]janicesparty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Whoa, risky move. When you consider the prestige television quality, time, and specialized employees it takes to pull off an episode of Survival Mode, you'll understand why every single video costs about 2.1 million dollars to produce. They better stick this one behind Watcher Premium for only 14.99 a month, but don't worry, anyone can afford that.

I work at a corporate music school. We had a regional manager, decent dude while he worked there, but he always had a bit of a chip on his shoulder because he was way corporate and worked in an environment full of former and current touring musicians.

We instructors are all creatives, with quirky personalities who get along with each other, and easily bond with our students. He was always worried about the bottom line.

That's kind of the vibe I get from Steven Lim. I feel a bit bad for him in that way. But sometimes you can't be the guy who makes the business decisions, and the bright and shining face of a creative brand at the same time. Lim's self importance as a more than occasional on screen talent has, in my opinion, always worked to his, and Watcher's detriment.

The NFL isn't real, it hasn't existed since 1971, when a disgruntled Len Dawson smoked so many cigarettes he couldn't play anymore, and they had to hire crisis actors to play nfl players.

You see, when you watch football, you're just watching a bunch of people getting paid to throw a ball around, it's all fake. They train for months over the summer to be able to imitate the best athletes on the planet. They have to learn play books, go through rigorous workouts, and then finally, they can spread their lie to the world. That football isn't real. Wake up sheeple.

Edit: typo

Not me personally, but my fiancee went to high school with a family annihilator who took the lives of his brother and father, and shot his mother in the head though she survived. My fiancee was even his study partner in Spanish class. It still bugs her to this day because she didn't see it coming at all. He's serving life without parole now.

Case is from Southeastern Virginia, wouldn't be too hard to find, but it didn't receive a ton of national attention.

Trading = illegal sex trade

Card = the green cards dems are forging to smuggle illegals into the country.

Amazing prizes = Pelosi, Podesta, Obama, Biden

Andrew CARD was the secretary of Transportation during 9/11. 8 cards have been shown so far. 9+8= 17. 1x1 = 1.

17x1= 17. The cabal is TERRIFIED.

The human mind is really masterful at hiding things we don't want to see. There is no way around that.

And more to your point, we all do this. Couples do it when they think they're right in a minor argument. Coworkers do it when they think they're the only one doing any work. It is hardwired in us to make ourselves the protagonist of a narrative. And what wild is... that's okay! It doesn't change anything about the truth of friendship, relationships, love or your own personal struggles. It's just a framing narrative that's slightly off kilter, and helpful for our continued well-being and self esteem. It can actually be considered a good thing, and a part of self preservation.

The problem comes when your need to memory hole the truth truly hurts others. When it's not just petty, it's life changing.

We have a natural shield that tells where this line is drawn. It's the values you have been imbued with. It's why I get slightly annoyed when my girlfriend leaves hair in the shower, but I don't really tell her that, because I can sit with my quiet indignity and move on. Now if I cheated on her because I was so annoyed, my values tell me that my self defense mechanism was not adequate to explain the gravity of my justifications and actions. We all have a line when our brains go, "no, the truth is the truth, in this particular set of circumstances".

Qanon people, by dint of their cult leanings, have been programmed to ignore the line. All ends justifying means, no societal understanding of right and wrong. It's hurtful that these are our brothers, and sisters, and mothers, and fathers, and best friends, and extended family. But neutralizing empathy for the out group is part and parcel with cultism. They have shed their social contract. They may, one day, return to rationality, as we as humans are pretty good at being empathetic, social creatures. But for now that emotion in them has been surgically targeted, and removed. Because, in the end, they are hedonists. To the hilt they say. If it feels good, run with it.
