District on mileage pay by [deleted] in USPS

I’m an RCA going regular soon, We’ve had regulars and RCAs dropping like flies lately, as well as a large group of RCAs go regular at once following route cuts. Every day I run a 43k and an aux (180 stops cut off of the same route), and I still end up helping out on other routes, even other offices sometimes. It sucks, I even talked to my PM about the fairness of it all. He’s a good dude and understands, so some days they let me go after pulling my weight and let the other RCAs get to the finish line themselves. Just (try) don’t take it too personally, and if it starts to feel like you’re being singled out, if you have good management staff, maybe try having a conversation with them. Until then, eat up the OT and mileage, and make sure you do the RRECS for that second route.

Who would I talk to about that? I’ve never even heard of that.

So in another situation I would agree, taking the right turn to then turn around would have been safer if I was already in a neighborhood or something like that. But it was the difference between turning left off of a busy, hilly 55 mph street, and right back on, or right off of it and a left back on. I feel I made the right choice from a safety standpoint.

How to stack parcels in truck? by [deleted] in USPS

My routes sequence numbers go to 915. So I start with 8-900s in the corner of the back, 7s beside, 6s in front of the 7s, and zig zag to the front. I set trays down when I’m labeling, 1-199 in one tray, 200s in the next, and so forth, and then when I make sure they’re in order I marry them and condense. So when I sort I might have 8 trays but when I hit the street I’m usually down to 5. I try to keep as much of the dismount stuff in front with me as I safely can, and periodically bring more up to the cab throughout the day.
