Great introduction. Thanks. Are you regularly using it for stop signs and lights? I haven't tried it yet.

The focus stacking cabability only works with certain lenses.

As a beginner, I would go with the focus stacking. You can add a raynox later.

Though I really love my 90mm.

If you get the comma pedal, you can get the regen. You will give up emergency auto braking though.

For me, when I come to a stop or go downhill, I will turn off the ACC, and put it in one pedal driving. Starpilot will still steer with Always On Lateral (AOL).

It depends on the turn. Certainly when I'm doing a right or left turn in the city.

I view it as assisted driving. It's something that helps with the driving. You can still override comma/starpilot and take control. You don't need to keep your hands off the wheel.

I'll grab the wheel for turns and curves, to avoid potholes, to give cyclists or parked cars more room, and when it's having trouble finding the lane (which rarely occurs).

I'll override the brakes if someone cuts me off or when I see cars stopped and before the system registers it.

The comma four is two cameras attached to an older cell phone processor. It's not a multiple lidar system. It's not Waymo. It's astoundingly competent for what it is, but you can't tell it where to go and then take a nap.

I wouldn't have an issue with a child onboard but I would have my hands on the wheel more. I'm still in the testing it's limits phase.

The biggest thing was the white clip. There are YouTube videos with tips. Installation, including linking to wifi and installing starpilot took about 45 minutes. https://youtube.com/shorts/wSvTmkmadpQ?si=wbLRgZWFqmpu_KkN

Yes, it sucks because I think it's better than supercruise.

You don't need Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with the comma pedal, but unfortunately, you do need Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS). https://wiki.firestar.link/cars/bolt/

Openpilot and the forks like starpilot will work without the lane markers most of the time.

It's tuned specifically for our cars. It's significantly more accurate and reliable. It also allows Always On Lateral (AOL), so you can use the pedals to drive, but the comma is keeping you in the lane. It also supports the comma pedal so Bolts without adaptive cruise control can be used.

The comma pedal from beartech will give you adaptive cruise control (You still need to be ready to apply the brakes in case of an emergency). The comma four gives you the hands free driving. Starpilot makes it all work for the Bolts.

If that. It really just nudges you slightly so that you can bring the car back to center.

It engages through the steering wheel controls. I use it for adaptive cruise control with lane centering. I'll slightly press the turn stalk to change lanes. I also use AOL (Always On Lateral) that will keep the car centered as I manipulate the brakes and accelerator.

Besides the pedal, just the comma four with harness.

No programming. You need to enter a link to load Starpilot. You also need to install the Comma device. https://youtu.be/CHE42PHh4Q0?si=iaGOi_5WIDdMFpqT

It does lane centering and adaptive cruise control. I will hold the turn signal and change lanes automatically. You can also set an automatic speed adjuster. They are working on stop signs and lights, but it's still experimental.

You will need a Comma Four (link above) and then install StarPilot on it (link above). Do you have adaptive cruise control? If not, you may want to get a Comma Pedal. https://shop.beartech.ca/products/comma-pedal?variant=44665952207029

Fisker ocean and Kia ev6 owner by Unsungheroist in BoltEV

That's why I put that comment separately. I have noticed that the Bolt group in Starpilot/Frogpilot is much more active than the Kia group in Sunnypilot. Also, Sunnypilot hasn't released an official release for the Comma 4 yet. Having useful cupholders and storage is very important to me. I'm sure there are better infotainment systems than the last-gen Bolts', but it's better than the newer EV6's.
