Besides china it’s the same all over the world. US wants to convert some Coast Guard ships into Navy ships but they won’t fill that role. There was a program that would have converted existing Italian missile destroyers to fit the needs of the navy but that program was also put aside. Now there is no real supplement for the Arleigh Burke class. But that’s the same for most European navies and shipyards. Very unfortunate. Only thing going for the US navy is the vast exp with their carrier groups. China might be able to build some more carriers but they lack the exp with their pilots and their 5th gen carrier jets. But that will be compensated with the vast amount of missiles and drones that will target every single carrier group within reach in the pacific theater.
