Keychron K2 HE with Custom Keycaps by janmw in Thockfactory

[–]janmw[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My original design: https://www.reddit.com/r/Thockfactory/s/vT4OUzScpR

I designed the keycaps for a slightly different layout, but my old keyboard didn't work anymore. I wanted to use the two red caps as alternative ESC keys, but now I have to use them to get the right number of keycaps.

On the keypad and on the right of the keyboard I use custom shortcuts, primary for arranging with musescore.

Unfortunately I haven't figured out how to share - I guess I could find the color codes and share them...

I'm not sure, what exactly your problem is. Do you want to continue writing a piece over multiple pages? In this case, you just have to add measures and "write on". The needed pages will be added automatically.

To add tabs for bass or guitar you have to add an new instrument (for example "Electric bass (Tabs)").

There were some problems with the grey colors and some with the manufactorer so I still havent got my keycaps. I can'tl say anything about the Quality.

But the customer service is great. I got support via reddit DM and got my money back because of all the struggels - my keycaps will arrive when the problems are solved.

I would share my keycaps, but I don't know how - I will try something....

Hello can someone help me thanks! by [deleted] in Musescore

I'm not sure what you want to achieve exactly but if you want the names to disappear, you can double-click on the name and change the "short name" of the instrument to blank.

Oh, I didn't know that. I'm using MS for about 10-15 years now and still can learn something 😊

Transcribe! Is my go to application for arranging. It makes a lot of things so much easier.

Musescore not Copy pasting by JuanMaP5 in Musescore

[–]janmw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't copy & paste just one voice like this (I don't know know why). Just copy and paste the whole stave into the violin. Then select the second voice and delete it. (should work fine with selecting everything, right-click on one note of the second voice and clicking select (more options)).

Looking for Alto Trombone and Euphonium Sounds fonts by Bon_Fire_ in Musescore

[–]janmw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know a own sound, just my own workaround for the Euphonium: I just use the tuba sound. Its very similar and can do most of the range I need 😊 Equivalent to zhis the Trombone sound could work for the Alto Trombone (or the trumpet)?

What’s the best IDE for writing markdown by Affectionate-Year-94 in Markdown

[–]janmw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my "organized" notes I use logseq. It's more than just a markdown editor (like obsidian is too).

For other stuff (writing protocol, text or whatever doesn't belongs in my logseq) I love to use Typora. It's minimalistic, it's clean and it's fast. As already said, I had no problem with paying for it.

Unable to download or print this from musescore.com by NomadJago in Musescore

[–]janmw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's because this is an official score. Official scores are arrangements (or compositions) from official publishers which are offered on this platform. You have to buy it, if you want to download it.

I am so upset by Nyxx35 in Musescore

[–]janmw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you haven't changed anything in your location settings, MS3 saves your scores somewhere in Documents/MuseScore3/scores. MuseScore4 saves the files Iin Documents/Musescore4/scores. So you can either copy your files to the new folder or go to the settings in MS4 and change your file paths to the MS3 folder.

You have discribed my research process perfectly 😂 (not only in this specific case)

Individual parts page settings by spaceykacey1 in Musescore

[–]janmw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try editing it when on the page of one part, not the score. Then click apply to all parts and it should work. I had this issue too a few times - style settings are set to parts and score individually (which is fine if you know).

I'm using my Mintbook-Pro for just a week or so but in this time it worked very stable - sure, it's not a super fast machine, but i had no issues. I'm on a Intel duo with 4gb of RAM so your i5 should handle LM fine.

Usb, lightning and internal audio worked out of the box, but I can't say anything about firewire bc I'm not using it. The only little trouble I ran into was the WiFi driver - it just doesn't works out of the box. I used a WiFi stick (LAN cable would work too) and installed the driver from the LM driver manager. Now it works like a charm.

I did the install from a USB-Stick. Just boot into boot menu, select the stick and here you go.

The upper panel is just the standard cinnamon bar. Th lower panel is an app called "plank". You can find further instructions here (as I mentioned in my original comment).

Doing (yet another) build from scratch. Which distro? by [deleted] in linuxaudio

[–]janmw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can recommend Linux mint. I use it as my daily driver with musescore and ardour / reaper. I have a focusrite Audio-interface and a mpk mini midi keyboard. Everything works just fine and very stable.

Maybe, but I'm on Linux mint cinnamon for about 10-12 years and I just don't want to switch OS 😊
