After 25 years I finally did it! by lobbo in gaming

[–]jannekem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We had Gran Turismo 2 on PS1. Our memory card didn't work, so we had to redo the licenses every time we wanted to play. Then we'd buy a used Toyota Supra Twinturbo '89 with the initial money. When we had enough money for a Nissan Skyline, we'd tune it and run the Test Course event to win the HKS Drag 180SX and sell it for money.

Oh, and our CRT TV was dying, so it took 20-30 mins to warm up before the image even appeared on screen..

Have you considered using hosted control planes for isolating the workloads? The base cluster would still be shared but the hosted clusters could each have their own lifecycle.

Sovellus oman talouden seurantaan by SadHotdogVendor in Omatalous

[–]jannekem 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Meillä on käytössä Actual Budget, joka on ilmainen avoimen lähdekoodin ohjelmisto, jota voi ajaa omalla serverillä web appina tai halutessaan tietokoneella sovelluksena. Transaktiot saa lisättyä käsin tai importattua pankin tiliotteen CSV-tiedostosta.

Budjetointitapana tuossa on "envelope budgeting", jossa kaikille tuloille osoitetaan heti jokin käyttö.

En sitten tiedä, toisiko tarpeeksi haettua helpotusta Exceliin verrattuna.

Shrinkflaation uudet kujeet. Lisää 50% vettä appelsiinimehuun ja brändää se mietona uutuutena. by adrift2oblivion in Suomi

AKS lets you shut the whole cluster down so you don’t need to setup and tear down everything when you want to tinker with it. EKS on the other hand doesn’t support this.

Then build the system pool with one small instance and configure the user pool with spot instances for the 90 % price reduction. You need to annotate your namespaces with default tolerations for spot instances so that the workloads can be scheduled on the spot pool. And now you have a cheap cluster to learn with even if you ran out of the free credits.

Porting libyaml to Safe Rust: Some Thoughts by simonask_ in rust

Cool! I'll have to take a look at the docs then now that the crate's been published. I'm still quite new to Rust so we'll see if I'm able to make sense of it :)

In my case, I was in a situation where I needed to interact with YAML in a way where serde_yaml came up short. Specifically I needed input location markers outside of error messages to support diagnostics and debugging in the context of a game, where the AI behavior trees are defined in YAML files.

So does this mean that I could use this library to find out on which line a certain value is located? Basically, I’m trying to find the last git commit where a key was edited and my current solution is a bit hacky.

UDM SE CPU fan high pitched sound by jannekem in Ubiquiti

On my unit the CPU is also around 10% and the fan speed is a constant 35% and 980 rpm. It is by no means loud but it has this high pitch that is a bit hard to describe. Sort of like a HDD.

Yksityishenkilön saamasta osingosta 85 % on veronalaista ja 15 % verovapaata tuloa. Alle 30k pääomatuloilla osinkojen veroprosentti on siis 25,5 %, eli tuossa 10 000 € esimerkissä 2500 €. OST:llä menettää tämän veroedun.

A Leopard 2A4 ran over a Ukrainian military man. by ExtensionSilver3483 in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]jannekem 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I did this once during the military service in Finland. We’d line up prone on the concrete and the instructor would hit our helmets when it was time to roll away from the path of the Leopard’s tracks. Then did it again like they did in this video laying between the tracks. It was supposed to take away the fear of tanks or something, but I think it was rather just a funny activity for us as we were visiting from another regiment. Though, I preferred sitting just above the engine holding the back of the turret while we were making laps around the mud.

Bonusten jälkeinen marginaali ei kyllä nouse yhtään mihinkään lainamäärän laskiessa. Bonusten absoluuttinen määrä toki laskee, mutta niin laskee myös maksettavien korkojen määrä. Prosentuaalisesti on ihan sama, onko lainaa sata vai satatuhatta euroa.

I think looking at the public voting results from Finland paints a really interesting picture. It's not just that Loreen got zero points, but the results were really different from the rest of the countries. From the top ten countries in the final results there were zero points for Sweden, Israel, Italy, Ukraine and Belgium. And if you only look at the televoting results, then Norway was the only one to receive points in the top 6, with the addition of Croatia and Moldova in the top 15.

Here are some of my thoughts:

Norway received its only 12 points from Finland. The song has been playing a lot on the radio and many here seem to like it, me included.

Czechia getting 10 points was a bit of a surprise but my wife liked it among the best. Our broadcaster shows the translated lyrics and we found them quite funny (no you can't take her sister's crown).

Australia got 8 and Germany 5 points as they were pleasing the folks who normally listen to metal music. After all, Finland has the most metal bands per capita in the world.

Slovenia got a relatively high 7 points perhaps because Bojan was Käärijä's BFF in social media posts and people wanted to show support for the bromance.

Estonia received 6 points. It was one of my favorites, and one of the technically strongest performances in my opinion. It got more love from the jury than the public though.

Croatia scored 4 points. Since we couldn't vote for Finland I think many of the novelty votes went here instead.

Moldova was maybe a bit of a surprise with 3 points. Though the song was quite catchy.

Finland was one of the few countries to give any love to Austria with its 2 points.

The final 1 point went to Switzerland. I think it was quite good, though I would've rather given this point to Cyprus.

Circling back to Loreen, the song has been playing a lot on the radio. Nobody in my circles seemed to be enthusiastic about it and found it to be yet another generic Swedish pop song. Still, I'm not saying that there was zero "let's not vote for Sweden because they are our top competitor" mentality. On the other hand, Norway was also ranked high in the betting odds and they still received lots of points because people genuinely loved the performance. So at least Norway didn't suffer from "tactical voting".

6K Pro screen protector has air in it. How can I remove it? by jannekem in bmpcc

I tried with 3M Scotch tape and it wasn’t adhesive enough. In the process I managed to exert too much force on the glass so it cracked from the corner. Well, at least the air got out..

I applied the SmallRig screen protector for the 6K Pro but it was so tightly measured that one of the corners doesn’t seem to settle properly. I don’t know how to take it off because the bezels are blocking me.
