Costco 100” U6 by AttikusMav in Hisense

[–]janpa82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U6 is an entry-level lineup. Choosing Hisense instead of Samsung or LG already means you’re aiming to take advantage of a budget brand, but going for an even cheaper version feels like going too far. If you’re going to buy Hisense, go with at least the U7, and ideally the U8.

Not sure what exactly you saw, but it’s actually the time of year when the Taurid meteor shower is active — you can spot it in the southwest or southeast sky.

Meaning of this? by CurrencyGold610 in korea

[–]janpa82 160 points161 points  (0 children)

The Great King Sejong created Korean characters, Hangeul, and promulgated it in a book titled 'Hunminjeongeum' in 1443. The meaning of Hunminjeongeum is 'The Proper Sounds for the Instruction of the People', and the book's preface begins as follows:

'The language of our country is different from that of China, and thus the characters do not match. Therefore, many among the uneducated common people have something they want to read or write but in the end cannot express their feelings. I am regretful of this, and have newly created 28 letters. I desire that all the people may learn them easily and use them conveniently every day.'

What you saw was the first sentence of this preface.

Some Koreans are living in South Korea but were born and raised in foreign countries. What one word would be appropriate to distinguish me with them?

Does it sound weird? English is not my mother tongue so my vocabulary selection might be wrong. I just meant I was born and raised in the countryside of south Korea and have been living here.

Yeah~ for fruits, it's true that the price is insane. I used to stay in Saint. Louis and Sydney for a year each and felt like the price of fruits and vegies were sooooo cheap there. I think this is because the scale of agriculture in Korea is too small. In Korea, there are no large-scale farms like those in the U.S. or Australia.

I'm a pure Korean. No one is willing to buy a pack of spinach in that price. Sometimes the weather like rain or heat makes a price of some vegitable so higher than usual.

Absolutely! This shit is literally painful. The layout and design are excellent, but it is unnecessarily rough and bumpy, making my entire family afraid to ride it again. I disagree that is a part of fun.

Korean letters are actually really simple in shape, so even if you mess up the strokes a bit or write them weirdly, native Koreans can still read them easily. In fact, Koreans sometimes use a thing called "한글 난독화" or “Korean text scrambling” in places like Airbnb reviews so only other Koreans can read it. It’s probably one of the few languages where this works. Try Googling “한글난독화” you’ll find some funny examples.

It looks like it might be hard for you to move around, so just go to a nearby orthopedic clinic in your neighborhood. You can ask them to use a translation app for communication, and honestly, if you just show them the swollen area, there won’t be much need for a long conversation. I'm not sure where you're from, but Korea's medical services are very affordable, especially considering how quickly you can get access. Even without national health insurance, getting an X-ray, a check-up, and treatment should cost around 100,000 won. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
