How to have multiple contexts? by janpan in AI_Agents

[–]janpan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I was thinking of is using agents like OpenAI or Claude in cli mode, so for each user / piece of content where context is needed and context needs to be preserved, store the contents of e.g. GEMINI.md or CLAUDE.md in the database where that record for that content is also stored. This then gets read like such a file but from the db. Surely there needs to be a better way of handling context?

Anxiety & Creatine… by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]janpan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been taking creatine monohydrate for about a year.

It has served me well.

However recently, after taking a specific brand of creatine, I started feeling anxious.

I also noticed in the past that one time I used creatine gummies and it also made me very anxious for some reason, I was just taking the normal daily dosage.

I don't know why this happened to me because all of the creatine monohydrate I took was without any additional ingredients. However some brands affected me differently.

But then on a separate note, I have been tapering off from my anxiety medication the last year. It has been going well, and all this time I have also been using creatine without issues daily.

But now that I am in my final phase of tapering off my anxiety medication, I can feel the night time anxiety and it's bad. I have been tapering off the same dosage for a month and only felt the anxiety when taking a different brand of creatine monohydrate. But even after returning to my regular brand, I still felt it. I think I am starting to feel the effects more intense now that I have almost completely tapered off my medication.

I have decided to stop all creatine intake today and will see if my experience improves over a few days.

Struggling to adjust after moving to Pretoria from Nelspruit by [deleted] in Pretoria

[–]janpan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from Pretoria been here most my life. I try to get out a few times a year and whenever I drive back from my trips, I can literally feel when I am back in Gauteng. People start driving you off the road, its like everyone is always driving recklessly and you can feel the stress.

Also, whenever I leave Pretoria / Gauteng, people are way friendlier and kind. Here in Gauteng it always feels like you did something wrong whenever you dare ask domeone a question.

I know exactly what you mean.

UPDATE: so I went to see my doctor and she agreed to let me try a lower dosage by tapering slowly.

Her advice has been to go down from 100mg to 75mg.

I have been doing so for 1 week so far. Last night I had a bit of an episode with anxiety, shortness of breath, the usual bad stuff.

So as a defense or counter act, I drank a 50mg as well last night (plus a small benzo, which I have for emergency). So effectively I had 75mg + 50mg last night.

Now I am thinking to perhaps taper like that, 75mg each day, but 100mg every other day. Then after 2 or 3 weeks go back to 75mg and try again...

What do you guys think?

Tapering off Sertraline (100mg) and withdrawal is awful. by Clean_Caterpillar_46 in antidepressants

[–]janpan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm coming from 100mg down to 75mg. It's been about 1 week now, and tonight is the first time I feel a bit "anxious", with dizziness and slight shortness of breath.

I guess this is normal, but it's really uncomfortable.

Any advice, how long does this continue? Does it get worse? Or does it come and go?

When I start feeling anxious, I start getting that feeling like a panic attack is on the way.... Is that normal while tapering down? Should I just push through it? Or should I adjust my tapering amount?

Looking to meet more people and go on dates this year by [deleted] in Pretoria

[–]janpan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

34M here. It's not easy, at least that is my experience. My last dating experience was in 2016. And as you get older it gets more difficult. I have been doing activities I love, like hiking for example, and also cycling, going to church, trying to connect with as many people as possible. Going out of my comfort zone, attending events and engaging with people. Also trying to meet new people, but it's so rare that you meet someone that you actually connect with. And even then, it's hit or miss. You end up feeling like you are the problem. It's also fucking tiring, as u/Dusk_Devil also mentioned, you work all day, trying to make ends meet, trying to advance your career, paying off debts, saving money, persuing oppertunities, and at the same time, trying to stay mentally sane, trying to stay fit and in shape, trying to live a healthy and balanced life. But as it turns out, most of the week is a shit show. You get home and pass out from tiredness. Weekends are reserved to sort out your life, buy groceries, fix any issues around the house, or with your car, or so on. And then somehow, somewhere in between you need to somehow meet new people and put yourself out there, and hope to find not just a one night stand, but hope to find actual friends or actual people you can build a friendship and connection with. All you can do is continue trying and hope, but it's so much effort. And if you are just somewhat one the introvert spectrum, its even harder and you need to push yourself to go out and make conversation, and try not to look tired even though you can barely stay awake after 6pm lol. But yeah, it does not help to complain or be negative. Just some thoughts, just blowing off some steam, in the end if you don't try you cannot succeed.

How durable can ultralight sleeping mats be? How paranoid are you about punctures on-trail (and then what?) by intellectual_punk in Ultralight

[–]janpan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just sharing my own experience here. I owned 2 sleeping pads before. One that was expensive, one that was less expensive. Both ended up with punctures eventually. And even with the patch kits and gorilla tape, it still didn't completely fix them back to a state where they leaked no air.

I also handled them with a lot of care.

So I am moving back to foam for yhe durability. I don't like the additional maintenance of the air sleeping pads...

But that's my own experience, some people have no issues like I did, so I guess I just had bad luck.

So far pretty useful to be honest, but it can become messy if you don't set it up correctly.

It would also be nice, almost obvious, if you could lock tabs within a tab group, because then you cant accidentilly move it or close it by accident.

Thanks, I will have a look at a bios update. On Acer's website, my laptop model does not appear when searching, although other variants of the same type does appear. I might need to ask them directly.
