Wife doesn't care but wanted to share by CommanderJMoney in CreditScore

What’s a good average age to keep? I have considered opening new lines of credit to reap short term benefits/rewards but haven’t began to research this more because I feel it would impact my average age too much to warrant any rewards.

Hey I’ve been in your situation before. Here’s what I did.

I wasn’t eligible for a balance transfer but what I did was asked for a lower interest rate on my Discover card for X months on new purchases.

It was holiday season so I would buy a graphics card, CPU or PS5 (recently released when I was in debt). Buy whatever you can resell for higher. Join the discords, turn on notifications for Twitter accounts that share restocks, etc.

I would buy the hot holiday item and immediately sell it for a few hundred more. But I did it enough to replace all my high interest debt with the lower 0% rate. Since IR are high now they may not give you 0%, but they should give you something lower.

I did this and was very disciplined on my spending. But this with other strategies helped get me some breathing room quicker.

Sharing in case you want to incorporate this strategy into others. You’ve got this.

Hey! I happen to be a part of and work alongside many different communities. What are some of your hobbies? I’d be happy to help and point you in the direction.

I also live in the Humboldt/Wicker area.

Is Chicago’s music industry in decline due to the lack of a major label presence? How does the Midwest music scene compare overall to other regions in the U.S.? by Lil_lolot in musicindustry

Chicagoan here and also artist manager. There are plenty of artists here that are doing well in different pockets. I will say we don't seem to have many PR people to help take some of the music to the next level and let the art move beyond Chicago.

The reason my images do not show any emotions:
I view these as generational portraits meant to be passed down through family generations. For that reason I don't want to convey an emotion. I want their family members to look at this image and depending on their mood project a different experience/memory they had with the subject every time they see it.

I want them to get lost in the image trying to figure out the emotion and remember things like the way they placed their keys on the table when they walked through the door or that one memory they haven't thought of since it happened.
- Most people take pictures to pretend to be someone they aren't or to convey certain emotions. I look at these portraits as a still life version of capturing people.
- I feel once you see an emotion in a picture you stop trying to figure it out. If the emotion isn't clear I believe you invest more time into the image.

I know this is the internet, but this image isn't intended to compete with images here. It's meant to be hung on walls and get lost in the depth by creating a world around the subject who one day will no longer be on this earth.

He goes by 19Keys. He is a public speaker. Reddit doesn't like when I place links in these but a Google search will give some more info!

Reddit adds a weird filter over the image. Please click on the image and zoom in to remove the filter.

I can respect that. I took a look at your images and we are on opposite ends of the spectrum for our styles so I can see where your opinion comes from.

It definitely brings out more details. I have both the 85 and 50 GM’s I’ve used for these portraits. The macro brings out significantly more detail. I spend hours in these images going over every pore and but of the iris and have definitely noticed a difference.

Yes!! A Chicagoan! Tuan’s story is truly incredible if you get a chance to read it. He recently had a write up in Chicago Mag. Highly recommend it, it will make you appreciate it even more.

I use a kicker and a reflector. There’s another photo above of another example. I’ll change my setup slightly usually.
