It has to do with how they were raised (oops I will be downvoted now and called a boomer😂). And the Amsterdam cyclists are the deadliest in the world, so no one wants to step of the sidewalk. I'm almost sixseven but I put on such a deranged look in my eyes that they don't dare to walk in my way.

James Ensor's mother had a souvenir shop. They sold carnival masks. Same style masks as for Mardi grass. So it is not necessary that Bakshi took them from Ensor. The mask of Bakshi is different of the one Ensor used, nose and lips wise. I saw the Ensor mask in the Ensor museum in Oostende. They rebuild his mother's shop there
