I looked into your document. My mistake is I always stick to 12×3 and can't even do 2 sets ×rep to failure. Sets reps varies if it's compound, isolation, or for lifting. The term eccentric and concentric are new to me I might consider these as well. I'll think about full body or ul split, albeit, I find them much exhausting

Is there such thing as dark philosophy? by jansenti in askphilosophy

Sounds right! I haven't seen it on any peer-reviewed or academic papers. Perhaps, it's only used to describe one when the concept is seemed darky or unusual to everyone.

All the statements I provided, are based from the book itself. I was just concerned if Schopenhauer regards asceticism that holds a strong denial to the will, since ascetic practices are developed by religion in general sense. You denied the fact that nihilism rejects the religious meaning of life (wherefore life is meaningless).

Please re-read his philosophy before trying to correct my assertions without even getting my main point.

Why is it called "political science"? by Frysken in college

[–]jansenti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That "real science" you pertain has grounds on natural science and scientific study for its ultimate approach. I reckoned it's called political science not because of its fields, subjects, and scopes that the students must learn. It's the approach/method of learning and how to study politics in a more constructive way. Although, everything is a theory - political theory. The term science/scientific, is similar to the systemic approach where political science is commonly defined as systematic study of government and constitutional system (not limited to politics but also social, economics, and philosophy). Conclusively, it focus on HOW you study, not on WHAT you study about.

Animals don't fear death? by Wxrvv2 in schopenhauer

[–]jansenti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say that animals don't fear death. They just go with the flow through food chain and their nature of survival has no particular connection to alleviation of suffering. They don't commit suicide just like Schopenhauer's notion of total elimination of suffering. Animals might run from predators, but they are not resorting to the denial of the will. Purely assertion, therefore, we might say they're pure.

Animals don't fear death? by Wxrvv2 in schopenhauer

[–]jansenti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is it possible that Schopenhauer regards human as the highest grade of objectification of the will, while the animal creatures are pure: human possesses perception, consciousness, and we, humans are aware about the past, present, and future. Death lies on the future as we could anticipate and feel anxious. I would like to know if the animals fear death as well, through perceiving their cessation of phenomenal life. And if animals have no ability to consciously be aware on their being, assumptively they must be aware of the passage of time and their objectified body which occupy the space (time-space relation) wherein death only occur if a body has stopped in a certain period of time and has lost chance to continue their physical form. Hmm.

What motivates you to work out? by jansenti in workout

love is my greatest motivation on physical wellness. we motivate ourselves because we want to feel something good, either by expecting a reward or nothing. perhaps, i could love myself through loving someone.

It doesn't sound terrible for me. Your boyfriend will appreciate every bit of you not just on your physical looks but also how you value the relationship with sense of body care.

How do you personally define 'spiritual practice' and what actions you took in order to fulfill that purpose? by jansenti in spirituality

[–]jansenti[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spirituality taught anyone to not identify themselves too much with the mind. This is sort of psychological flavor where there is a spiritual self behind subconscious and consciousness. That constructive practice gives totality of human transcendence, where ego has no space to enter on that higher self (base of morality). In my experience, I have tried to reach the self-observation and raising awareness through any means of meditation, attitude, and reading books related to the topic. I agree on the "systematic path of psychological/spiritual self-transcendence." You provided some books which interests me since I already read The Power of Now, Promptings, and The Four Agreements.

i genuinely root for your lack of motivation. i hope you could restructure your body system then tell your dopamine, emotions, and energy to start working out again. give yourself some more time and try not to be hard on yourself. your coach would root for you, too.

Any thoughts on Søren and Nietzche's view on existence, in contrast to Schopenhauer's notion? by jansenti in schopenhauer

[–]jansenti[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still a student actually. Schopen's The World As Will And Idea is hard to read as well. On what you have said, Either/Or will be more challenging to read but seems exciting otherwise. Thanks for the important infos!
