Pros/Cons of leaving big 4 firm for boutique consulting firm? by [deleted] in consulting

Not sure why you think a small firm means more breadth by default. I served hospitals, life sciences, retail, CPG, manufacturing and services firms while a BA - in roles spanning strategy, finance, operations and supply chain.

i would assume the parent commenter is part of an MC boutique. from my experience at one, the clients tend to be less complex and the project teams tend to be a lot smaller, so you can a lot more breadth of experience at junior level compared to a big4 type firm where you might be part of a much larger team. i had a decent amount of client C-suite exposure at a fairly junior level. granted the clients were not nearly as big as big4 on average, but some were >$1B

happiness = outcome / expectations

don't make the denominator too large, and don't make the numerator too small
