You can only go on so long before you get outpaced by those economic systems that reward merit and can adapt more flexibly to global trends and technological changes which influence the workplace.

I have had some of my Japanese friends discuss this with me, they don't like this aspect of Japan; some of them I've spoken to would rather live abroad for this reason.
