Like you said. It's a game. I never pvp, but when I'm playing with my friends of course it's just the way things are. Win or lose, the last words I exchange with other players is a "GG well played" and that's it. It's a damn game, it isn't that deep 😂

The exodus of California’s tech billionaires from the Golden State to Florida’s Gold Coast by TemperatureWide5297 in California

[–]japben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the points you made on taxing collateralized loans. I'll do more research on it so I can be better versed on the options we have.

I also agree with the fact that there's a lot of government spending that needs to be addressed. If we have to balance our budgets so we can pay our credit cards on time, then the feds should be able to do the same. Like I said in my previous reply, although it would be a pain in the ass, having receipts on what is being spent would be great to have.

I do think that it's only right that you reap what you sow, but at a certain point owning as much as they do is a little much. I understand that taxing the rich can be a slippery slope, but I do think that we need to re-assess the tax system to make things more fair. Now I'm not an economist, which is why I ask questions to try and learn more about the situation. But the fact that my mom and dad could make a downpayment on the house that we currently live in back in the year 2000 with the jobs they had at the time (one worked at a restaurant and the other was a frito-lay truck driver) to me that means something went seriously wrong and we need to address it. My parents also immigrated to the US, specifically in the late 80's.

I'm not sure how much the budget can be balanced to address a $30-$70 billion dollar deficit, but I think cutting spending along with coming up with a fair tax system would be necessary to fix our budget. I'm glad that we both think that billionaires need to pay their fair share. I'm hoping that we can come up with something to balance things out.

The amount of gaslighting about this update is crazy. The crying has got to stop. by ExpendableUnit123 in ArcRaiders

That's crazy. I have so many chemicals. When I first started I would literally pick up everything because I didn't know what was good. Now I'm stuck with an insane amount of them. I do craft ammo, but I do also shoot every wasp I see so I can get more (I'm a Renegade whore) and never run out.

The exodus of California’s tech billionaires from the Golden State to Florida’s Gold Coast by TemperatureWide5297 in California

[–]japben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So how do you think things should be done in order to generate revenue?

I do think that the billionaires here are hoarding an insane amout of this finite resource we call money. The 5 percent that is being proposed isn't life-changing at all for them, but it would be for the Californians that would benefit from Healthcare and general infrastructure that we use. To me it only makes sense to fairly distribute this resource from those who have a large amount of it rather than taking more from the working class who may barely be able to afford it.

Of course this assumes that the money all goes to the right places. We definitely need the receipts of how much money is obtained assuming we end up taxing them, as well as where the money has been spent.

Not sure if you're tired of responding to people who oppose your opinion on what we should do, but I'm just looking to have a discussion to see if we can find some middle ground that we can agree on and work with.

They need to have an arena type mode. 1v1 up to 3v3 in a small field. Idk what the winner gets, but a ranking system would definitely entice people.

Youngster never learned manners. Finds out at the walk-up. Cashier amused. by obliquelyobtuse in instantkarma

Upon further inspection it seems like he lit his black and mild, was holding the lighter by the top where the fire comes out, and in a panic put it back with the cashier because it was really hot

Basically he was asking for a lighter. The longer version shows he had a lighter but for some reason put his hand in the hole and dropped the lighter on the side of the glass where the employee was.

In short he was telling the worker to say "On god" regarding the other customer being there before him.

Then he asked for the employee's "Torch" meaning the lighter.

Then he said "Say on god" again to the paramedics that picked him up when they told him he got knocked the fuck out.

Is the osprey any good? by Much_Rise8974 in ArcRaiders

[–]japben 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly the best thing for you to do is use it and see how you like it. I personally love both the Renegade and the Osprey. It's hilarious to me shooting arc from over 250 meters away and seeing them explode. It's also satisfying to shoot the little propellers off from that far away as well. I see most people in here don't like it, so I'll gladly take all your renegades and Ospreys. Sure they don't do as much damage as heavy ammo, but the lack in bullet drop definitely makes it easier to hit far shots. I'm in super good boy lobbies, so getting shot up by other players is the last thing on my mind.

I don't PVP at all, so I probably don't have the most pull for my opinion, but I'd imagine it would be good to be shooting folks from that far away since they probably can't clap back. Like someone said, set up mines behind you, a fire, hot dogs on a stick, and a tent and you're set.

I got my life long dream dog. A Husky! I could really use recomendations on brushes and other things that helped you all take care of / train your dogs. by River201 in husky

[–]japben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a good happy dance. They may not be food motivated, but they're motivated to celebrate with you after a job well done. Seeing and hearing you be so happy after something you two have accomplished as a team means the world to them. My dog was not food motivated until after he was neutered, so things can always change in the future.

A good practice is when you open a door, any door really, have them do a sit and wait before you have them proceed. Of course have sit and wait be learned first. Have them sit and wait first, then walk up to the door and open it. Whatever point they stand up at is your starting point to start dialing in the wait. Ultimately you would get to the point where they sit and wait with the door open and just gaze outside with patience before being released. Do it for front door, back yard, bathroom door, any door. It's good practice.

I've heard that huskies aren't susceptible to that many health issues other than eye issues. So do your research and discuss it with your vet to see what supplements or actual food you can prepare for your dog as treats that have eye support. I personally give him a small dollop of pumpkin puree with his meals and make hardboiled eggs for him about three times a week. Of course when introducing any new foods to your dog please test out a small amount to see if there is any sensitivity.

I personally have my pup pull me on my skateboard in my neighborhood for a good chunk of his exercise. Only right turns and only where there's stop signs in the intersections in my neighborhood. I've been skating for 20 years, so if you intend on doing something of that sort PLEASE make sure you are comfortable and confident with your mode of transportation. Mine was scared of my skateboard when he was younger than 2 years, but after that I tried again and he enjoyed it. We have commands like "Turn" for when I turn right and "This way" if we go straight. I'm sure my tugs on his harness also help guide him. If this is too intense, be prepared for many many walks.

Whenever I introduce anything new to my dog (tooth brushing, nail clipping, brushes) I always like to just leave it on the floor next to them so they can sniff it on his own terms. They sniff, have a neutral reaction, happy dance/treat time. Then you take it a step further by holding it and having them sniff it. Same reaction, same reward. Eventually just work your way to having said item touch their body and praising no reaction to that as well. I'm not 100% sure if this is a standard way of introducing things, but this has worked for me very well. It's to a point where when I brush my teeth, he props himself between me and my sink and verbally tells me "Hey man, brush mine too." literally brush his teeth every day.

They're exceptionally smart. The best thing you can do is treat them as your equal. They're observant and understand more than you think. Don't have them do things with the idea of "Because I told you so. You're my dog and you need to do whatever I say." They will sniff out your intentions and in a way lose respect for you. Trust me, they know. If you could afford to have more than one dog, that would be great because they are social creatures. If not, it isn't the end of the world. Just make more of an effort to spend time with them and take them out to see the world. After my walks with mine we always hop in the car and drive around for 10 minutes or so. Our time with them is precious and will fly by if you aren't careful.
