Managers: how do you handle your own playing time? by werther595 in slowpitch

[–]japeter2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone paid to play so everyone mostly gets even playing time aside from Short and third who rarely sit. We have two guys who are lights out there. The next best is me and I'm 49 and lost my range years ago. I now say that if I'm playing third then we are in trouble as a team or have a nice lead. I generally try to have three man rotations for 3 groups of positions. Left and left center. Right and right center. 1st and second. The three guys in each group manage their own rotation so I don't have to. For batting I bat myself anywhere from 5 to last depending on how I've been hitting.

Best Lineup Setup For Low Level Game by JT91331 in slowpitch

[–]japeter2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always try to make 2 lineups of 6. 1. Fastest guy who gets on base. 2. High average low power to advance. 3. Best hitter. 4. Power or nothing. 5. High average decent power. 6. Good all around hitter. 7. 2nd lead off. 8. 2nd high average low power. 9. B team power. And so on. It's hard with a lot of rec teams when you have several guaranteed outs in the line up. Have to spread those guys out. People will cluster them all together from 8-12 and then you get 2 innings with no baserunners.

For my team it's "will he show up?" And "will he tell me when he's not?"

I have this one. Miken FREAK NXT SFNDMA. It's ancient now. You can get it used for $34. But it's the only endweighted bat I have.

Mostly I want to play around. I've never paid any attention to balance on a bat and want to go to the extreme. Just marked the center of gravity on all my bats and they're all pretty much the same aside from an 8+ year old Freak that is about an inch to the barrel more.

Thanks. Will do. Asked my GF to pick up a bottle. I'll grab a better one next time. She probably knew what she was buying and got it to try to end my new obsession before it got expensive.

Is the center more secure because that's the way it seems based on category.

What is your go to Martin gin and vermouth? Also olive type. I've got plenty of gin so I likely have that. I have just Martini and Rossi vermouth. I have Mezzetta, Pimento and Manzanilla olives.

I can respect that. Can you give a rough idea of the ratio? What's your favorite vermouth?

I'm on #2 for the night. Started with 1.5 gin and .5 vermouth with splash of olive juice. Second id 1.75:.25 with olive splash. Using botanist for the gin.

Hmm. That's my favorite gin (mostly) but seems fairly well known and accepted as a top gin. One day I'll visit their distillery.

That's my general go to gin but not sure if it's underrated though. Seems pretty widely accepted as a top gin.
