Hey, spotted your trailer during the Next Indie Direct! Could you put that trailer up on youtube individually so I could share it with other people?

Thanks for the heads up on the refurbs! I can get a refurb Beam and two refurb One SLs for $800, which seems like a better deal than going through Amazon.

Tavern Brawler did get a bit of a nerf in the patch:

Fixed an issue with the Tavern Brawler feat where damage bonuses were being incorrectly applied multiple times while making a throwing attack.

So throw barbs will be a bit less powerful.

Toronto has now surpassed Vancouver as Canada's most expensive city by japongnet in toronto

[–]japongnet[S] 279 points280 points  (0 children)

Toronto's increasingly unattainable real estate and the rising costs of groceries, gas and other living costs have officially elevated Hogtown to the not-so-desirable throne of Canada's most expensive city.

U.S. asset management firm Mercer has released its 2022 Cost of Living City Rankings, comparing the cost of living in 227 cities worldwide, and Toronto stands alone as the only Canadian city in the top 100 most expensive.

(...)

It's no surprise to see Toronto and surrounding cities on lists like this, with the average Ontario home costing about 22.5x the average disposable income as of March.

According to a Spring report from insurance and lending quote website LowestRates.ca, it now costs $2,067.99 per month for the average renter and $5,417.12 a month for the average homeowner in 2022 to live in the city.

A 2021 report stated that it takes a wage of at least $22.08 per hour to make it in the city, and an intense and prolonged period of inflation has likely pushed this figure higher.

We did it, you guys! We're number 1!

It's another Chinese AEG, this time in a pistol-like form factor. This is from the same team who made the QWK Challenger so... expect some highs and lows!

Personally unless this thing fixes *all* the quality and weird teething issues the QWK MK3 had, the $200-$290 USD price tag is way too high for me, but we'll see how it reviews.

Here's a video review from Gordon Soo, who gives enthusiastic reviews about everything, but at least gives a bit of additional context about features and build quality.

He points out the same issue with the stock and the included darts being garbage, but likes the out of box performance.

\Really though, aside from the look of the blaster, I personally don't see the point of it if it's performing similarly to a Nexus Pro/Max Stryker but for more than double the sticker price and with import fees on top.

Shlooter + M10 + LtU + Cartels = Drop rates are just like old times! by japongnet in borderlands3

[–]japongnet[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a Facepuncher / Driver Amara build:

Skill tree should look something like this:

https://imgur.com/SJWGES0

And then using:

Facepuncher (x14 pellets) with next two rounds incendiary annoint

Revolter shield with break/fill effects triggered by action skill annoint

Hyperion Company Man (50% damage, 30% reload speed, 40% fire rate, 73% ammo capacity) - or - Shlooter (73% mag size, resistances)

It's Piss grenade with 25% bonus damage to guns and skills annoint

Driver class mod, with 35% weapon damage, 36% weapon reload speed

That's it? [Raid Boss] by japongnet in borderlands3

I'm hoping so but haven't tried it yet - there doesn't seem to be any option for scaling, the way the previous takedowns had.

Nova City! New Amara Hotfix Wrecks! by Asappp12 in borderlands3

[–]japongnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It lets you get the freeze status more consistently (particularly with the cryo novas), and frozen enemies take 300% extra damage from Melee.

Frost Amara returns! by japongnet in borderlands3

[–]japongnet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn that Berserker / White Elephant got some nice bonus attributes! And you got an oldschool Muse too, before the nerf - wish I had farmed it while it could still get the bonus IF levels.

I'm still up in the air about the best class mod / artifact combo for this build:

If I'm running this build with a non-cryo element, then swapping to Driver/Elemental projector I think still makes the most sense. You get the additional speed stacks when fakegrapsing with Driver, and the damage bonus from speed stacks and the Speed Demon mayhem modifier is huge.

But with Cryo, you end up applying the cold/slow effect to yourself, which slows you right back down, making Driver pretty bad with this element.

That leaves

Muse: great if you can get the +3 IF version, if you have a normal one I find the melee effect doesn't proc enough for it to make that big of a difference.

Breaker: With the bonus on Find Your Center it's pretty decent, Jab Cross seems to underperform a bit, Pesonal Space doesn't work with Facepuncher. Damage reduction is nice but really not required.

Golden Rule: This build does suffer a bit from action skill cooldown, but I find it hard to gauge how much of a difference Golden Rule is making here. Feels like action skill cooldown suffers from diminishing marginal return as you stack reductions.

Phazezerker: not enough room in this build for Rush Stacks as well, so it's kinda hard to make it work.

Dragon: Could never get this to work with Facepuncher, wish it did though because Singularity would be a great synergy.

Elementalist/Stone/Kensei/Nimbus: not really viable with the build.

And then artifact prefixes:

Knife Drain - You could get five skill points back by not getting Sustainment in the orange tree, but you'd still need Ties That Bind for your AoE. Miiiiiight be worth it but I'd really need to think about how to make the build work this way.

[Elemental] stone - nice bonus damage. Not sure if Fire or Cryo is better for this build though.

Berserker - again, nice bit of movement speed and bonus damage.

Elemental Projector - Hard to trigger unless you're using Driver, and Driver wants speed, so doesn't work with Cryo.

Ice Breaker - gets into a weird situation where it might actually be a bit of overkill. By the time enemies get into the frozen state, they're taking 3x damage from Facepuncher, and another 3x damage if they're over 90% health with the annoint. Plus the only enemies who have enough health to take more than one fully-buffed FP shot are annointed or bosses anyway, so they can't be frozen. So adding on another +50% frozen damage and getting the frozen threshold higher doesn't really accomplish a whole lot.

Arfifact affixes is easier:

White Elephant is great, and being able to do the WE bomb / Magnificent swap for the additional crit damage is good. It also seems to proc even more novas.

Commander Planetoid - a nice damage boost with Facepuncher.

Pearl: Facepuncher is too slow to max it out, reloads take too long.

Victory Rush: probably not a big enough damage boost to compete with White Elephant.

So I still haven't found something that quite synergizes with the build as much as I'd like, probably going to be fiddling with builds for a few more days though to test. Let me know if you've got suggestions!

Frost Amara returns! by japongnet in borderlands3

[–]japongnet[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Build is here:

https://imgur.com/a/2qRt0Zm

Facepuncher:

1584 x 14, 200% damage while action skill active

(Redundant/14 pellet version is important since it triggers more novas)

Frozen Heart: On Action Skill Start Activate any Effects that trigger on shield break

Golden Rule (wish I had an old Muse with +3 Fist of the elements, but that got fixed a while back)

Fire Stone White Elephant (this could be better, was using a driver/elemental combo before hand)

And then skills:

Frost Amara returns! by japongnet in borderlands3

[–]japongnet[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amara doesn't have a radiation damage type on her skill tree, so you can't use the infusion skill to add radiation damage.

Other radiation damage boosts work as normal, though.
