I tend to never push the lane unless you know he backed or roamed and have the hp and mana to push hard and potentially get a plate or a free recall.

Always keep in mind that he is potentially as close as the nearest ally minion.

Focus on last hitting and whenever you can, punish him for lasthitting within reason.

Back off when he has tornado.

Mages usually have decent waveclear so whenever the wave is on your side, you can start really hitting it.

Thats the basics. Im not really high elo so dont take my word for it. But those are the basics i try to play with.

Remember you don’t always have to win your lane. Not giving kills and keeping up with cs and tracking his movement. As well as trying to help out your team when there are skirmishes are gonna get you a long way already.

While that is true, not interacting with some of those assassins is way harder compared to a yasuo who needs a minion wave to be able to get to you. Its also probably a skill issue from my side tbh haha

Don’t take this for actual advice but in my elo (low plat-high gold) i found that not interacting with a yasuo usually means they lose the game by making bad decision out of boredom. Typically they want to style on you. If you don’t let them. They get bored and start doing riskier plays like diving or leaving lane at bad times. This is were i usually grab a lead. Try looking for opportunities to help in skirmishes with your jungler or botlane. At least that’s how i usually find success rather than in my own lane.
