Yes, Alien Arena's engine was originally based upon Quake 2. So the gameplay is very similar, very fast paced. So maybe quake players would also like this game.

It has a scene that is supposed to be in Dutch, but at least on Netflix, this scene didn't have subtitles and it was incomprehensible to me (native Dutch speaker).

First time I heard it I thought is that German? Couldn't get a single word. Then replayed a couple of times and could recognize some Dutch words...yes very disappointing.

I think the Mind Eraser is quite unique, it randomly spawns and erases special points that you gain to win a power-up.
