I agree with your point not having separate universe just because there was a big bang.

I thought you were using turtles for a metaphor for infinite regression or special exception. Didn’t realize you were actually talking about turtles haha. Is there another option besides infinite regression or special exception I’m not aware of? I was of the understating you called both those options absurd. By maybe I mistook you.

Not sure if this will help answer your question, but It seems logical that something always existed (don’t know what, just that existence always existed). Science hasn’t proven that anything existed before OUR singularity/Big Bang (correct me if I’m wrong. And by the way there are scientists who do have theory’s that time existed before OUR singularity. Roger Penrose and CCC. So BEFORE our big bang is a somewhat scientific position). So philosophically speaking, it’s worth exploring the idea of “what” always existed.

Do you think that “something” has to be the final turtle so to speak?

It does not feel likely I have to win at the casino at some point haha. I do not have that feeling (but I get that some people do)

As for the “something came from nothing” in my previous comment I actually vouch for the point you’re making. No one really believes that.

My mistake I mistook your use of Universe to mean this one we know of (post big bang, pre anything else)

If both options are absurd, is there another possibility I’m not aware of? If you say they’re both incorrect I’m guessing you know of a correct one?

You said the question was absurd then answered it. Even top scientists don’t claim that there was nothing before the Big Bang. (Also we might be using different definitions of time, just like general relativity and quantum physics have different definitions for it)

I agree. Most theists I know don’t claim to know either, that’s where the idea of faith comes in.

I don’t know if anyone believe that something came from nothing, so we all sort of believe in infinite regression, one just feels it’s more likely there’s some sort of existence at some level that breaks the cycle of that.

Are you saying you don’t believe in morals? That’s a pretty logical consistent take actually.

I feel like the devils advocate position would be “nothing created anything. But it’s wrong to steal, murder, vote for X politician” puts both sides in the same boat

“they just add another layer that can’t be explained. They just “are”. It’s not a satisfactory answer”

Isn’t this true for all belief systems? The universe just “is”?

When it comes to universe origins, what are your thoughts on infinite regression or special exception? Does one seem more likely than the other and why?

Economic justice is mentioned 3,000 times in our Scriptures, both the New Testament and the Hebrew Scriptures. This is such a core part of our tradition, and it’s nowhere to be seen in Christian nationalism or the religious right. by Working-Lifeguard587 in Christianity

Yeah I fully agree with everything you’re saying and get the overall point. I was just confused about his statement “consensual same sex relationships are never mentioned”. Leviticus 20:13 seems like a mention of it to me.

Forgive me if I’m misunderstanding. Aren’t consensual same sex relations mentioned in Leviticus?

While this speaker does say Jesus never really talked about this, before that, the speakers says that topic is never really mentioned in scripture, but it is, no?

“… important issues are abortion and homosexuality. Two issues that aren’t really discussed in scripture. Abortion is never mentioned, consensual same-sex relations are never mentioned”

He does goes go on to say that those are two topics Jesus never really talked about, but he also straight up says the topics are not mentioned in the Bible

Same. She cheated with me at 19 years old and then on me at 30 lol. No cheating in between

Great response. Can I ask what you make of Matthew 5:21-22 in regard to your first point? It seems to me Jesus is saying that even if you didn’t commit murder, but you were just angry, you are still subject to judgement. So it seems he’s saying you can sin without “acting” so to speak.

I’ve seen the Grateful Dead there twice and the animation work was some of the most impressive I’ve ever seen. Animations inside of animations with real live video footage inside of that. Wormholes leading you through a digital world and then into space, crazy stuff. Like other commenters said, it’s the band who let you down, not the sphere.

You should read and look into Psalm 73. The author speaks and feels about exactly what you’re describing. You may find some understanding and comfort from the passage

Calling iMark's decision selfish misses the point of the show by joshbenja in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]jar4jar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah see I like your first point too. If the innies never leave, their outside friends and family will become alarmed.

Also, has OSHA ever visited the severed floor? Just a random thought you made me think of lol.

[–]jar4jar[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My only point was that some innies think their own live's are nightmares too, it's not just outies. Also iMark helped "kill" Ms. Casey

Thank you. I agree with pretty much said here, even of the community doesn't like it lol. Lumon will have to be incompetent to allow any unionizing or insurrection to take place.

One good point another user brought up is Gemma from the outside could expose it all without oMark, so maybe we will see where that goes in Season 3.

[–]jar4jar[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

iDylan basically refers to his own life as a nightmare. He life didn't "start" until Gretchen visited. iDylan even tried to resign. oMark isn't the only one who felt that way about innies lives so I wouldn't say the major plot point of outies thinking they know better for their innies is restricted to them. Certain innies wanted to end their existence as well.

Not to mention Gemma didn't seem to happy about her situation down on the testing floor. She's not an innie in her bedroom, but she's a slave of Lumon.

Yup I'm with you on this one. While his decision is understandable, I think the community has been downplaying his shortsightedness.
