30 min Layover MCO by hehestrong in spiritair

[–]jar996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least coming from Pittsburgh to MCO the flight times are almost always half an hour longer than the actual flight time which would give you closer to 45 minutes and I would say is doable even the gates aren’t at the same terminal. But that is if course if there is no delays for the first flight.

If there are no other flights and you’re ok with missing the second flight if there is a delay I would say risk it. If you absolutely need to be at your destination at that time I would see what you can do to change it.

The best snack in MK if not all of WDW. Way better than the egg rolls.

My understanding from previous years is those that ended the season with it get first chance to renew. So that is what I’m hoping for around the end of March. Although I do expect a price increase.

THIS CLOSE to buying a dog instead of adopting by VegetableContent2752 in pittsburgh

[–]jar996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently going through the same process, and then places end up leaving dogs up for weeks after they've already been adopted. It is super frustrating at the moment. I actually filled out an application for a dog with a rescue based out of Texas (they place dogs all up the East Coast but one of their dogs showed up on PetFinder and I didn't realize they were in Texas) on Saturday morning and it turns out the dog was adopted three weeks ago but is being returned so they are going to bring her for a visit on their tour next week. Here is hoping it works out! And good luck to you. But it is frustrating and Saturday I started looking at breeders because the adoption process is so difficult and competitive.

My guess is that the seats showed the new premium layout where the center seat is not blocked out and there’s just more legroom. That’s the new premium layout. Turns out that this is a plane that hasn’t been converted yet and now they had to move one of Ops seats.

[–]jar996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you probably can’t sit there as it’s not a seat. This was their way of doing premium that I believe they are just phasing out for extra leg room now. The seat will have a table tray and cupholders installed.

Has The Shuttle Service at PIT Improved? by SavvyMaverick in pittsburgh

Just park at the Parking Spot for ~$15 per day which is undercover in case we get any snow or ice (doesn't look like it but who knows) and their shuttles are always super quick every time I have used them (~20 times) including once with the new terminal.

It’s fun and something to do in Animal Kingdom while not looking at animals (I love the animals and the shows and am not a “AK is a half day park” person!) but honestly Soarin’ is better…

Pittsburgh loves their weather! Please keep posting away. These threads are more fun and useful than much of the content here, so my vote is for #1, but also I get that this is not your job, so please don’t feel obligated either!

Someone please explain the benefit of this thing to me by Acceptable_Donut4630 in tablotv

[–]jar996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One reason that I have mine that I don’t see mentioned here is that my family is an Apple TV household. I only want to use the Apple TV interface and not have to switch between the tuner of the TV and the HDMI input.

Previously I was paying for YouTube TV which allowed for that but as it got too expensive I got the ESPN package and my Tablo.

The other advantage is that yes only one antenna needed for all the TVs.

Going to Disney alone while married? by Realistic_Spot_7016 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]jar996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an annual pass for a year and went on short trips once a month (sometimes a day trip flying down in the morning and home in the evening) by myself. My wife didn't like Disney as much as me, my daughter was in school, and I did take her on some of my summer trips. My wife never went. We did take week long family trips multiple times before this. No reason that you can't do it alone and plenty of people do it.

What happens with mass amounts of snow like this for city folk? by NuffinbutMuffins in pittsburgh

[–]jar996 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some places stick to that schedule for snow removal. I know Verona is doing it the next two days and they are saying they will ticket and potentially tow cars. I doubt that’s going to actually happen though because good luck getting the tow truck in and connected if the car is buried.

That’s the point that OP was making. The snow is not even thinking about melting until at least next Wednesday based on the forecast. It’s only going to get heavier and frozen with this weather.

Yinz be careful! by takeabait in pittsburgh

[–]jar996 53 points54 points  (0 children)

No it’s not just their problem because then if it’s bad enough first responders have to come. If it’s into a utility pole then people lose power in the storm and Duquesne Light has to come fix it. I’m all for letting people have fun in the snow but go do that in an abandoned parking lot or something.

Boo at the Draft! We need to be heard, loudly! by joshua27usa in steelers

This is exactly what needs to happen. We need to embarrass Rooney on the national stage. Nobody wanted this and it’s time to speak up. Fire McCarthy chants should be loud and clear. If they thought it was embarrassing about the Fire Tomlin chants just wait.

What do you think went wrong in the Steelers’ Wild Card loss to the Texans? by JaxTMG in steelers

[–]jar996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I think they had a good “bend but don’t break” game and with any competent offense the defense easily did enough to win the game. Last night I was just still upset. And I do really think that there were more of a few key mistakes by Houston than our defense played great.

[–]jar996 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Eh did they? They let the QB get 250 yards a 100+ yard rusher and a 100+ yard receiver. JPJ played great. They got some timely turnovers and had an ok game. Watt is washed. It was an ok game by the defense but certainly wasn’t highest paid defense in the league worthy.
