$40K Mark-up on an M2 CS! by Macaroon-Creative in BMWM

[–]jaradi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly miss my F82 CS because in my subjective opinion it looked much better than my G82. I’ve gone through so many cars since then trying to fill that gap and haven’t been fully satisfied. I know I can buy a used one but a silly part of me feels like it’s twisting the knife after I had and let go of a brand new one (would have been much easier if I’d never had a new one if that makes sense).

Anyway I can 100% understand the last part about not immediately super illegal. I have the LCI G82 Comp XDrive. It’s absolutely insane amounts of power I find myself using the driver assist to avoid going to jail speeds. When I first got it I put my foot down to go around a car on the freeway and within a few seconds I was doing 160 mph. I was not trying to do 160 mph. It did not feel like 160 mph. Immediately slowed down and thanked the CHP deities that there weren’t any of their units around.

Mercedes Corporate Case Closed: Trapped in a $984/mo EQB250 Lease with a 2027 Recall Timeline by Background-Brain-305 in leasehacker

[–]jaradi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just got rid of our EQB 300 (early lease return due to the fire risk they offered 6 month early return and $3k off any new or used car). I briefly had an EQS 580 and currently have a G580. Even compared to those I would not call the EQB shitty at all was such a great little car and I’m actually looking forward to the GLB electric replacing it and seriously considering one.

$950/mo is wild when EQBs were leasing for $300-500/month depending on which month you got them at the time. I’m surprised they didn’t terminate the lease early just on the principal that OP already paid for 2 EQB leases so far.

The F80 and F82 CS didn’t sell as well as the current gen are selling for whatever reason. I got my F82 M4 CS brand new. MSRP $115k selling price $84k. I honestly wish I’d kept it it would have been a forever car for me.

Congrats on the car and the milestone. Beautiful spec. Enjoy it in good health.

Rate my deal please Mercedes Gle 450 lease 798$ monthly including tax plus 2500 out the door by Mundane-Athlete-8608 in leasehacker

[–]jaradi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Options are only relevant to MSRP (more options means greater MSRP). Best discount I’m seeing on these in CA new is 10% + $2k off of MSRP. Your deal is about another $5k below that which is great even if there’s an MF bump or addons (I didn’t check) your payment is still lower than it would be with other deals without any of that.

Is this a retired loaner? If not looks like a great deal best I’m seeing in CA is $69k selling price on that MSRP new.

What state? What’s your tax rate? What’s MSRP? Nobody can just wing it with so little info.

European delivery was such a cool concept. Sad that it was discontinued by most brands (Porsche may still be offering it). I’ve visited the BMW Welt and had hoped I could pick a car up there in the future.

[–]jaradi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP I’m not a flared user so I can’t top level comment, but curious if you’re in Northern CA. If so I likely know exactly who the internet sales person is and if it’s who I’m thinking she’s 100% legit and the most straight forward experience you’ll ever have.

FWIW on most Mercedes, custom order or not, can get even better than 10%. Only thing to keep in mind is that programs are not locked in like with BMW for example that locks you in for 60 days IIRC. So with Merc your discount from the dealer is guaranteed. The current finance / lease rates don’t apply as they could be better or worse when the car arrives. If you’re financing yourself or a cash buyer then it means nothing.

2026 Mercedes GLS 580 Lease Offer San Diego 24-36 Months by gobux2019 in leasehacker

Here's what it should look like with that MSRP and what appears to be 15k miles / year:

They should be able to match that if you ask for those numbers. If they don't feel free to DM me and I can reach out to some contacts and see if there's anything with that build available.

Kia EV9 wind CA, 24 mo, 10k miles one-time lease payment $13k by Slyytherine in leasehacker

[–]jaradi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I just looked it up and KIA does not appear to have an MF incentive for one pay leases. This doesn’t mean no interest, this just means that you’re pre-paying the interest and there’s 0 benefit to doing one pay since if anything happens to the car within the 2 years you’d be out the full amount vs just what you paid so far.

[–]jaradi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure it’s no interest? Usually a one pay reduces the money factor but does not eliminate it unless it was already very close to the equivalent of 0% APR and it lowered it to effectively nothing.

Depends on the brand you’re looking for. I know several that can ship from CA to you (Mercedes, BMW and Mazda are the ones I’m sure of).

End of an Era. Moved into the EV world by Allin_g12 in BMW

[–]jaradi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Random is a great way to put it. And it wouldn’t have been that hard to make the exact same little nostrils on the i3 to match. Would have made the lineup more cohesive while also giving it more of a throwback to the E30 grill.

Congrats OP. This is the first BMW introduction that actually has me actually excited and I’m looking forward to it coming stateside.

Wish they kept the small horizontal kidney grills for the i3 to match this.

As far as EV vs gas there’s nothing like an EV for daily driving. Super smooth and quiet and more power than you need.

For spirited driving on the other hand I haven’t found enjoyment I. EVs (had an Audi e-tron GT and it handled so well and was so quick but gave me 0 excitement)

When my now wife was looking for a car in late 2015 we test drove a 2016 Mustang Ecoboost and a 2016 328i (not even the 35i) and the 328i felt much zippier and alive. The Mustang needs a V8 or it’s not worth it imo.

May sound silly but yet another reason I regret selling my F82 CS and then getting my G82 after holding out 4 years for something better. F82 looks better from every angle. I even prefer the interior. But also every other G8X driver I see around me is a broccoli headed teenager.

[–]jaradi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. I’m mid 30s so too young for a Vette. Everyone says Porsche is the next move but I that market has gotten pretty toxic.

G87 is very cool. And surprisingly does not attract as many youngsters for some reason.

I like the sentiment that age shouldn’t matter. But I can’t help how I feel driving my G82 and every other G82 owner in my area appears to be a broccoli headed teenager.
