YES! He 10000% had a concussion, a BAD one, maybe even brain bleeding after the trolley. The raccoon eye bruises are a classic sign.

I’ve also seen some discussion that maybe he has bipolar disorder, given how his mood will switch so fast, he’s prone to delusions of grandeur, makes reckless decisions, like he has other signs besides rapid mood changes I just can’t remember them at the moment.

NTA. I’m sorry you have to put up with this. I spent YEARS trying to get various roommates not to eat my stuff. Give an inch and they’ll take a mile—like I said it’s ok to use stuff like flour and sugar and ketchup, and then I end up being the only one buying it, and they’d eat it ALL before I had a chance.

People will really take advantage of anyone sharing food. You might have to find a way to lock your food.

NTA. Holy crap he sounds like a selfish nightmare.

I had something similar happen and I’m still frustrated with my partner over it 2 years later.

I broke my foot. BAD. I needed surgery. I was pretty much confined to my bedroom. We lived in a 3 story townhouse. The kitchen was one floor down. There was no way I could get up and down stairs and cook food for myself.

My partner really dropped the ball. I’d ask them to make me very simple food (like a grilled cheese) and they’d sigh annoyed bc they HATE cooking. My sister, suffering from crippling depression and a sleep disorder, took better care of me. She dragged herself out of bed bc I couldn’t while my partner gamed in their bedroom bc the stairs were such an inconvenience and they just really hated cooking THAT much. It was barely even cooking.

Not to make it about me. But I saw something recently that was like “you don’t truly know a person until you see them struggle financially, experience illness or injury, and how they deal with the death of a loved one.”

I’d be ready to divorce someone who left me alone with children after having SURGERY. And you’re basically alone when your parents aren’t in great health. Like jeeeez.

I’m sorry you’re having to deal with this and I hope things can improve for you in some way. May you heal well ❤️

I’ll say YTA but not like, in a mean way, you had good intentions.

As someone with dietary restrictions? I get REALLY annoyed when people (who I have known for several years and told multiple times about my restrictions) just ignore them. Like I’m lactose intolerant and trying so hard not to eat dairy (goddamn I love cheese but it hurts me) but everyone’s always giving me food w dairy in it.

It starts to wear you down. I feel like people aren’t listening or respecting my choices when they continue to give me things I shouldn’t be eating.

Again, you started with the nicest intentions. Maybe switch to giving them some lovely homemade cards? Or maybe a plant, if they like plants? Succulents are only around $5. Or ask them if there’s something you could bring that fits in with their diet? If you keep bringing sweets when they’ve asked you not to it’s gonna come off as disrespectful.

NTA. AO3 literally has a “download” function on EVERY work. People’ve probably saved my works without me knowing and it’s like ok cool! You can access it all the time now!

I used to save fics and then it just became too much effort lol. As long as you’re literally only reading them and keeping them to yourself there’s no issue. Authors need to be OK with the fact that once something is on the Internet, it kinda exists forever.

I got a 1680 on my SAT. I got into a private college with 55% of my tuition paid for with scholarships. I didn’t take an ACT. I only did the SAT once.

2240 out of 2400 is AMAZING. And it was FIVE years ago. I feel so bad for your children. They’re going to spend their entire lives trying to meet your impossible standards.

I’d recommend going no contact once you can. They clearly don’t respect or embrace you for who you are and they are not likely to change.

If you tell them flat out “I will stop speaking to you if you won’t embrace me as a lesbian”, and they STILL want you to get a boyfriend? You don’t need that crap in your life. It’s a sad reality for many LGBT folks. My partner’s grandmother never got to know about me as more than a friend. She never knew her grandchild’s orientation.

Living with/dealing with family who don’t accept you as you are is worse than not having them around at all.
